People, let's not forget airlines fly daily through Japan airspace - collision is a real danger for both domestic and international flights.

It is not safe and this is no game. Will the country government of that airline take action or just ban all flights?

There is no hatred. None one is advocating hate.

Neither Japan nor the US is the aggressor.

But neither will we be subject to aggression.

Jimizo.

- There is no excitement or wish for war, not at all.

You have a big stick, ok, I'll show you mine; it's bigger!

It is clear who is the aggressor here.

Neither the US or Japan will make the first move or attack. But if provoked, we should meet with equal force that will send a message that such provocation will not be tolerated. That seems the only way to get across a nation that does not respect peaceful sovereign nations.

Quote: “We solemnly urge the Japanese side to… refrain from jeopardising China’s sovereignty and security interests or crippling regional peace and stability,” Hua said in the statement posted on the ministry’s website.

Hah. There is actually a hidden message.

Japan has not the arsenal that China has been building. Japan's interests are only it's boundaries - not expansion or threats. There are no parades or display of military force in the streets of Tokyo. The Emperor promotes peace and humility.

Here's the real message:

China is bullying Japan to taunt the USA.

Should China continue on this path, it will be a Combined USA--Japan force to contend with.

Bring it on! Make my day.

The parents are legal guardians and have every right to be informed. If the child gets injured, the school informs the parents; why not in this case also?

Also, as a social justice and moral direction, how about the following:

Why not replicate the same requests we see on the trains - if you see something suspicious, REPORT IT to the authorities. This should be the new campaign to at least address these types of behaviors that we should not ignore.

Once upon a time ......

Anything that has a lot of traffic needs maintenance. Look at the Pyramids in Egypt or the Great Wall in China.

If you want it to last, it requires upkeep.

Case in point, in Hawaii, Hanauma Bay was once free, but now charges an entrance fee for upkeep.

Ref:https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hanauma_Bay

Measures were taken to limit use and so visitor access was limited to the parking lot, and when it was full everyone after was turned away. In 1997, the city of Honolulu levied an entrance fee on non-residents of the state, leading to a class action lawsuit by a visitor, which was settled in favor of the city during 2004.

I can at least say I remember when it was free back in the day (Both Fuji-san and Hanauma Bay).

Save the trees. No lapel sticker. Waste of paper and will likely fall off making more unsightly litter! Just use a marker if you want to show your support that you gave. (Kechi or non-kechi).

Another idea io consider is to collect a little more data on who is contributing such as resident or nonresident (tourist) or create an optional FB page to show /who or your support. Make it a campaign - I survived Mt Fuji - or challenge.

Already climbed it 20 years ago. A view to behold on a clear day.****

The pattern to be observed is that most of these deadly incidents are by local residents and not foreign attacks.

Difficult to anticipate but raises the need to consider not only the obvious - external threats - but also home-grown, internal risks. We can no longer ignore or assume, "muri, kanke nai" - no, that won't happen here." It just did. Consider even the remote, very possible.

For dcog9065: I was also delayed that morning from Yoga station.

This is the same accident. The Tokyu Denentoshi line connects directly to the Honzomon Line from Shibuya so the delay was caused by this and not a second incident.

High school kids were saying she fell off the platform while looking at her keitai/mobile phone - but if the above report is true, supported by platform camera video and eyewitnesses, then the students didn't have the facts yet (they were late to school due to this, and rumors tend to go viral when 人身事故 or Jinshin jiko - personal injury - is the reason they need to provide when they arrived late to school - and others who were late to their offices).

More on the mobile device idea:

Pre-load the mobile device with useful apps:

Dictionary Translation tools (Siri) Favorite spots Restaurants Points of interest Hire a tour guide Shopping areas Etc.

You get the idea - rentals or download package recommendations.

Is the way people get to know where to go - social media.

Just went through SFO (San Francisco) airport last week. Looked through the gift shops and book stores. Saw tourist books & language guides on China, India and other places but NOTHING on Japan. Don't believe these were sold out - or likely not available. If you don't advertise the tourists won't bother. The Japan Tourist Agency need to spend on media OUTSIDE Japan - TV ads and bookstores. Then again, using a mobile device, material available for DOWNLOADing would save publishing costs and inventory - but put the word out so people can access.

Then again, if FREE WIFI was available that would help. The Tokyo Metro WIFI allows a limit of signing on per day and Starbucks here does NOT have free WIFI either.

If you want people to enjoy their Mobile devices to read, research and use their GPS mapping to get around - FREE WIFI will be an advantage to avoid costly Data Roamimg charges.

So....mark my words ... put the word out and provide Free WIFI will drive those numbers. Or allow iPhone and iPad rentals with unlimited data plans at Narita (sending pics eats up a lot of mbytes of data).

Remember I said that.

And you can thank me later.

Not being defensive - pointing out that some have no idea of the limitations of the elderly.

Granted she should have had someone accompany her, but the comments about saving or abandoning the cart or just walking quickly on her own without it when the gates closed is complete nonsense.

If you have spent any time personally with the elderly and one that is over 90, one would not make such absurd assumptions.

Probably because she was able to and had done that for over 90 plus years.

When or if you ever get to 96 years old AND can still walk - with or without a cart, THEN ask that question .

Again - she was 96 years old!

People - get real . Without the cart she would fall down .

She couldn't move without it.

Capice ?

Read the article again closely ! She was 96years old! Do you realize how fast people that age can walk if at all?' She was not trying to. save the cart. The cart was how she was able to get around! Bless her soul she could still get around by herself at that age.

I know this station well - it is not that big - on the way to Jiyugaoka - someone could have helped The poor soul to live this long and end this way. So sad.

Rest in peace.
