Sounds like a very mysterious submarine with many uses 'wink wink'

Yes, of course - one of the most complicated, advanced and secret Russian deep-water apparatus

May be unique in the world.

Very special submarine with very special crew for very special tasks.

Even in Russia nobody knew exactly anything about "Losharik"

Russia wants to reincarnate the Soviet Empire in Eastern Europe.

---

No it's not possible

--

To be honest. I really do not know enough about that part of the world to agree or not with you on that one.

Very simple - you can't turn back time. It's impossible. It's like reincarnate British or Holy Roman Empire.

They want influence in their old client states, especially those that share culture, history and the Russian language to some degree.

Yes, it's truth

-------

And I can kind of respect that.

Its the degree of influence that worries the West because obviously Russia and the West are in poor terms right now

In year 2007 NATO promised some program to Georgia&Ukraine and Putin promised that none of these two states will join NATO. So, he keeps his promise.

EU can be much more prosperous (especially in Greece or Bulgaria) but after "revolution" in Ukraine income level falling dramatically (2-3 times) in this country

-----------------------

The E.U needs to focus far harder on the Eastern European states they already have in lifting living standards. I agree with you on that for sure. I think there are signs that is starting to dawn on them.

Yes, before coup d'etat in Ukraine in 2014 it's economy was two times bigger than now (this decrease we have as a result of war and stopping trade with main trade partner - Russia). The situation in economy of Baltic states (EU/NATO members) is critical - they have lost everithing as a result of bad relationships with Russia...

And nobody in EU/US pay any attention to this situation.

That why these new weapons - to stop expansion of our western "friends"

-------------------------------------------------------

I guess this is the real crux of the matter. Russia fears invasion yes? But can you honestly imagine the Europeans doing such a thing? They have no capability. Can you imagine them agreeing to America doing such a thing? Its their turf, not the United States when its all said and done.

Yugoslavia or Libya also have no fear before air operation starts - than it was too late to do something

Russia just want to have 100% reliabile strategic forces. it's not matter of treat or agression.

Last 15 years Russian scientists have one main task - create devices that can overrun any antimissle system.

So they fulfil their job.

Why is it always Russia v U.S? China & Russia v U.S? The U.S can't do it alone anymore

by the way - what US needs in Eurasia?

That clashes with the objectives of the E.U in growing and a good many citizens in Eastern Europe who see the E.U is far more prosperous than Russia.

May be they should look for "new objectives"? For example - to improve life standards in new EU members?

Yes, but it was supervised by the Nazis

No it was started before Germans took country under any control

It was a local initiative

Chiune Sugihara was serving as Japanese consul in Kaunas, then capital of Lithuania, when he disobeyed his superiors and issued Japanese visas to Jews fleeing Nazi-occupied Poland

By the way, when Nazi come to Lithuania, Lithuanians immediately started to hunt Jews

Most Jews in Lithuania were murdered not by German Nazi but by local people

When you remove a cheater, the opportunity to win a true gold increases.

The same thing happens when you remove a strong competitor...

You mean the "true gold" - the gold win by right nation?

Eppe

Am not sure to see the link with the IOC though

The problem is that in Russia nobody belive that IOC decision is about "sport"

All people took it as a political motivated decision

here the problem

1 Denial

2 Anger

3 Bargaining

4 Depression

5 Acceptance

And now in Russia we have stage number 6

We are nation! We are great nation!

Napoleon&Hitler made the same big mistake..

El pueblo unido jamas sera vencido!

So it's very good news for me ( and i'm Russian)

Very xenophobic decision. But it finally and totally destroy political positions of those stupid guys in Russia who spoke about "friendship with West"

Russian foreign policy has changed in last few years

But we should go further. More close cooperation with N. Korea and Iran and so on ...

Anyway Russia will be much more realistic and activ.

Today we have very strong patriotic reaction inside country. And that's good.
