Olegek - right now, for right or wrong, smaller countries near Russia are afraid of Russian aggression. This is a case where perception is reality, and Sweden and Finland
OK Georgia (not US state!) also want some security, as a result they got a disaster.
Leaders of Ukraine (biggest state in Europe) also want "some security" they received... full disaster.
The conflict un Ukraine not come to an end yet. And all the things are possible. Lot of NATO officers are involved in this conflict. Some of them already dead. Yes - it's correct info. Some US/UK officers. Not mercenary, but active Army/NAVY officers.
An American marine corps lieutenant-colonel, as well as an English major from the commando brigade of the marine corps, landed on Snake Island along with Ukrainian fighters. They coordinated the work of NATO intelligence assets and the Ukrainian landing forces. Both officers landed in the first wave. Both die on this special island near Odessa (Ukraine).
We have a lot of problems without Sweden and Finland.

Japan, EU agree to step up sanctions against Russia,
So, I'm really glad that in EU&Japan there are no other problems.
Russia is a really great country, I'm serious - it last years nobody talking about anything except more sanctions against Russia. No more other problems at all.
Vladimir Putin like supermen resolve all the questions on this little planet - and only one question rest.
V. Putin himself.
I'm really glad and happy.

Ukraine to hold first war crimes trial of captured Russian
Interesting, but much more interesting that Ukraine totally refused to comply with the Geneva Convention in relation to Russian prisoners of war.
Second: Ukraine has absolutely no interest in fate of Ukrainian POW
Third: Ukraine fundamentally does not take the bodies of its dead soldiers. Use and forget
Forth: Ukrainian forces use land to land missles not against Russian Army (very small loses in last month)
but against big cities in Ukraine in Russian zone (relly big loses)
War crimes trial?
Really intresting.

Of course - you forget - but German Nazi have plans totally destroyed Polish people.
they killed about 6 million Polish people, but today Germany - it's a EU leader - so it's OK?
And Nazi troops in Poland were destroyed by Red Army. Yes, it's an uncomfortable truth.

It is not much of a signal to the Japanese Government.
Before the invasion of Ukraine Russia made many demands that any sane government would have refused, as Ukraine did.
So now they have a real war. They lost about 50 000 soldiers.

Is that supposed to be a punishment or a reward? Nobody in their right mind would WANT to travel to Russia
It' is a some political signal to Japanese gov.
before spec op in Ukraine this country received a lot of political signal, but ignores them.
They should stop pretending to play nice with Russia and posture the JSDF to retake those islands.
JSDF have some experience in real war?

Let the civilians be released
Putin responded by claiming that Russian troops have offered humanitarian corridors to civilians holed up at the plant. But, he said, the Ukrainian defenders of the plant were using civilians as shields and not allowing them to leave
What is not clear enough?
After "Ukrainians defenders" were beaten in Mariupol every civilian received opportunity to leave the city.
By the way, taking hostages is a war crime.
So it's not a big problem for civilians to leave Azovstal plant - it's a problem for a "defenders"

Where Russia falling and Ukraine is succeeding?
In two months Russia lost no one single battle. And Ukraine has no one single successful offensive.
Russia very carefully moving forward, grinding Ukrainian troops. Saving its own soldiers.
One more point: Russia using its normal (peacetime) army, on the contrary Ukraine carried out the third wave of mobilization because of huge loses.
