Going back to Ukraine while the war is still ravaging?

In next week their home city Nikolaev will be very dangerous place.

Russian starting attack on Nikolaev garnison.

Your country should stop murdering civilians in the streets in Ukraine.

Ukrainian military should stop hiding inside the cities.

Ukraine is two times bigger than Poland

Just go outside guys.

Olga, her husband Slava and 10-year-old son Dima hoped to return to Mykolaiv, a port city under Russian fire on the shores of the Black Sea,

The city's founding was made possible by the Russian conquests during the Second Russo-Turkish War of 1787–1792. Founded by Prince Grigory Potemkin, Mykolaiv was the last of the many cities he established. On 27 August 1789,[3]

So city was founded by Russians, not Ukrainians. And the name was Nikolaev

Potemkin named the city after Saint Nicholas, the patron of seafarers,

Ukrainians should found their own cities and gives the names wich they like.

Ukrainians are much stronger than Russians.

Sorry? Napolen&Hitler troops were beaten by Russian, not by Ukrainian.

In his short history old Ukrainian (15-17 senuary) quasi-state (much more smaller than modern Ukraine) have no one war to win.

The comments released by both PM Kishida and Kantei office were clear and strong, which are quite extraordinary.

Let's hope for a swift international inquir

urely at some point the people of Russia will get to see this savgery and also be disgusted by the actions of their leaders?

The main problem here - nobody belived to enemy.

In this conflict Japan from the first day was on Ukrainian side.

So what justice PM Kishida talking about?

For such things you should be neutral.

Hayashi also said the international community must act "unitedly and resolutely" against Russia, which invaded Ukraine more than a month ago, the Japanese ministry said.

Today Japan has China&Koreas (both) like enemies...

But that is not enough for Japanese politicians.

They looking for more and more enemies.

Sorry - isolation was a better solution.

Japanese goes outside only to seek troubles.

I mean, a country of 144 million invaded a nation of 44 million because they "felt threatened."

First of all: population of Ukraine (real population) in the January of 2022 was about 30 million. Not 44.

During post-soviet times Ukraine suffer economic collapse, deindustrialization.

Lot of Ukrainians emigrated, or just go to work and leave in foreign lands.

May be less than 30. Some specialists talk about figure 26 million.

In 1991 (last year of Soviet era) it was about 52 million.

Just compare.

Japanese gas and energy firms are closely monitoring the developments of Russia's aggression in Ukraine, with some eyeing non-Russia players as alternative suppliers on concerns Moscow may reduce or suspend its natural gas supply

If you pay in roubles - it's no problem at all.

And "non-Russia players" already said to EU/US -

we have no extra gas

we have no extra oil.

Sorry.

The EU starting the paperwork to pay for Russian gas in Rubles (bye bye USD)

> Not correct and in fact EU stated that will not happen. That is what Putin wants. They will pay in the currency in their contract agreements

If they will not pay in roubles - they received no gas. Simple and clear.

"Contracts" were broken by EU after they freeze russian assets in Euro/Dollars.

Yes - in Russia nobody think of Japanese car as "luxury"

very good - yes

But not luxury car for oligarchs

By the way - your info about political influence of Russian oligarchs

corresponds to the 90s of the 20th century

Putin demands that NATO refuse membership to Ukraine and other former Soviet states like Georgia, and that the alliance roll back its military presence to positions held prior to expanding into Eastern Europe.NATO leaders have rejected Putin's demands, and with uncharacteristic speed

Yes. It was so exactly before the "special operation" in Ukraine.

100% truth.

The main reason for this "operation" - Ukraine come to close to NATO membership.

And this is unacceptable for Russia.

Faced with stout Ukrainian resistance, Russian forces have resorted to bombardment of urban areas but made little progress capturing the main prize — Kyiv.

1 Main Ukrainian forces concentrated in urban areas (not outside and Ukraine is biggest country in Europe).

2 Russian forces try to surround rather than storm Kiev.

The main goal - Ukrainian Army (artillery tanks and planes.)

Ukrainians sank a Russian troop carrier.

Not sank but seriously damaged there was a big fire

It was flooded to avoid an explosion of ammunition in the hold

Only one official figure to 2 March 2022 - 498 killed and 1 597 wounded from Russian defence ministry.

about 500 in one week, but it was the first week.

7000? crazy.

> By comparison the US was flying over 1000 sorties per day during Desert Storm. Most aircraft flew three sorties per day, changing out pilots for each sortie And because the bombs are precision guided the aircraft can stay above all the MANPADS (like over Kosovo and Serbia)

You totally forget that Russian Army unlike US Army starts ground operation the very first day.

Air support, not air war.

It was no ground operation in Serbia at all. Only airstrikes.

If it goes accordingly, Russia will eventually fight the countries carrying out the sanctions.

By the way - interesting idea. Today the big war in Europe is only a nightmare, but the things could change very quickly. For example Poland has some intentions toward west Ukraine (old Polish provinces) and moblize army and send out 45 Russian diplomats.

lets hope that at least in Japan common sense will prevail even when big pressure from whitehouse is very imminent

Good idea. After this war, which Mr Zelenskiy gona to lose Russia still be neighbours of Japan. In short - time pass and it will be no Mr Zelensky as president, but Russia still be near Japan.
