great more fake whining, it's rather sad that NY Post would even report that without data and facts proving their claims. It would be great if they actually reported news instead of rumors but this and other like it are the exact reason no one trusts the media anymore

Sadly so many buildings in japan have no safety features and/or fire escapes. The goverments are to blame for this with lax enforcement of safety regs... So many of these tragedies could be avoided if the Govt officials simply did their jobs instead of turning a blind eye!

well said Japan needs to become way more proactive with fire prevention and fire safety

Droll Quarry

Okinawa is in a State of Emergency, but over the past 5 or so days there has been a steadily increasing stream of tourists and rental cars on Hwy 58 headed from the international airport at Naha to the north end of the island where the large hotels and resorts are. I expect the virus count will start ticking up here as well. Okinawa does not have the luxury of a lot of hospitals to distribute patients around.

That's very true, yesterday the marine sports venues were packed, diving, snorkeling tours. We have seen boats loaded with 20 plus people with no masks head to the dive sites, gonna be a rise in the numbers in about 2 weeks. State of Emergency is a joke here, it only applies to the residents but eh airports are bringing in folks big time.

Thomas Bach said last week there was "zero" risk of athletes passing on the virus to Japanese or other residents of the village

Further proof he/they the IOC will say and do anything to keep the money train humming and it's sad that the world allows them to do this

At Any Cost” - Tokyo Olympic Organizers. Who here listens to doctors anyway?

“Holding the Games during Jul and Aug... was a serious issue even before," Haruo Ozaki, chairman, Tokyo Medical Association. “There are still high risks of heatstroke at events such as competitive walking, triathlon, & beach volleyball," even after moving the marathon & race walking, he warned.” -

Gotta make money for the IOC

Are we going to see the Olympic athletes compete with masks on? Now that would be interesting. I guess swimmers would have to use snorkels with mask on top.

That's the only way I'll watch it now :)

I guess they're so used to the constant monitoring and limited freedom of speech and freedom that they don't know how to handle all the sudden freedoms they enjoy. How ironic *

They sure seem to enjoy the freedom to complain though
