The craziest part is that Japan can have all these odd-tastic and wonderful gadgets, such as the remote controlled trash can and mop, yet still be some of the most hard-working folks out there. I'm patiently waiting for remote controlled shoes to become a thing...

I understand how people can feel as if the situation is justified, but we really shouldn't judge so quickly with such lack of information. The son could have a permanent condition or ailment that keeps him from being more beneficial at home. While it may be unlikely, we still shouldn't jump so quickly to conclusions and harsh decisions. (^-^)/

Anything that causes unhealthy addiction can create a society or community of people that do not contribute to said community. However, I wouldn't go as far as calling pachinko players useless though (o.o) Unless it is the only thing that they do and they are not retired or elderly. (^-^)/
