The "winners and losers" mentality was indeed my main takeaway from the film. And yes, it did remind me of Trump and many others that I've met in America...and Europe...and South America...and...well... There might be something in the American love for panache that makes it seems like we all put "winners" on pedestals and/or love to play the "victim/viking" narrative. However, my sense is that this narrative is hardly internalized by all or even most Americans. I see it in certain personality types and in more pervasively in certain spheres and careers etc. Seems more like one of the many cognitive lenses you might see in America.
