Because no one should wear them outdoors; even the gubmint says so.

Today I returned to Narita from Seoul, with only carryon luggage. 20 minutes from landing to strolling towards the Skyliner ticket machines! It's even better than the old days because the immigration lines are so short :-)

Posted in: Japan to scrap extended-stay measure for foreigners at end of June See in context

LamillyToday 07:56 am JST

Most countries have allowed their citizens back. Those 79,600 foreigners are from where?

My question exactly! I was given one extension in June 2020 on my 90 day visa, then denied when I tried again in September of that year. The reason they gave was that it's "possible to fly now." Is there anywhere left in the world not allowing ANYone in?

Since there is no list here, I'll just copy the one from the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (https://www.mofa.go.jp/ca/fna/page4e_001053.html)

Thank you so much! This kind of stuff is not so easy to find in the morass of Japan-government websites

Now I can plan the next 6 months of travel!

Will the boosters come during or after this wave?

while I’m far from a fan of Japan’s vaccine system, like many other things, once they’re rolling with a plan it’s fairly efficient. I got my second dose in early May, and received my booster voucher from Minato in late December… so I had my booster almost two weeks ago. They’re just rolling it into the local centers.

Of course, this was under the old 8 month timeline, so if they really decide to shorten that timeline chaos may ensue!

Wow! Japan is doing great compared to US here in America...How? You have trains and live closer together..

Much less testing in Japan - and far fewer fatties.

Most everyone here will agree that testing in Japan is low, as is the current tax rate... so maybe if you add vaccinations to the immunity of x_thousand (million) people who've had COVID and survived... is a huge number?

Speculation is fun!
