“I failed to properly check for signs of bullying,” he said.

Don't worry. No one relies on yours for information anyway. Neither the parents who'd like to send their kids too, I believe.

I hope someone will make a hardcore documentary about this and scores worldwide acclaims... Really feel for those victims

“Rather than representing the aspirations and goodwill of the Iranian people,” he said, “Mr Ahmadinejad has yet again chosen to spout vile conspiracy theories and anti-Semitic slurs that are as abhorrent and delusional as they are predictable.”

Is he stating that out of delusional naive?. or of confidence out of some support he has in his sleeve. And what 'kind' of support is that, I wonder...

I agree too. Hell, Two Las Vegas Hotels are banning her from entering. Pimps, prostitutes, drug loards, gamblers are all welcomed...but Paris is banned. LOL!. I thought that was hilarious!

That's what comes of being the public figure. Every act, institution around her do toward her will be highlighted. So they must do what's apropriate to the public.

Posted in: Poverty grows among Japan's young adults See in context

****@neogreenjapan

By what you wrote on the first post, I wonder whether the ends meet in capital Tokyo is practically the same as in outer region. Since it looks like the income is higher in central Tokyo but accompanied by towering living cost. While other region offered lower living cost but also lower income.

Say that you do, and get married, it'll still be tough to raise a kid with your average single income. No wonder so many people in this city do not get married or ever have children.

Yeah, I agree with that. reading this article, I see a further birth decline in the coming years...

Posted in: Mother murders her 2 children; then tries to kill herself See in context

the boy was found near the front door and his sister was found on her futon in her room. All three were found in their pajamas.

Perhaps hearing the sound, the boy came to the room, and noticed the scene. He tried to stopped her but when she turned chasing after him, he ran for help and caught by the doorway.

Such a terrible tragedy, especialy early in the morning and by their own mother.

Posted in: Remains of 2nd infant found in planter on veranda of Osaka woman's apartment See in context

When the going gets tough to abort the baby, some people turns to old school infanticide. But to put it in the planter? and having your 13th year old child found it? o_O Jeez, this is creepy... planters are the gimmick of Ward living in Japan. Can't help to feel like sorting through some horror urban legend...

Posted in: Anger and defiance in Taiji after 'Cove' wins Oscar See in context

I wonder if after the announcement of the Cove winning, the fishermen of Taiji went into a frenzy and repeatedly grunted, stabbed and slashed at anything in their path with whatever was in their had at the time (i.e, chopsticks, bento, meiji chocolate, etc) for a good 5 minutes...

lol ;D

and @Skipbeat. I agree with ya! I'm studying anthropology and changing some culture by force will only lead to unbelievable scale of resistance. If you want to change any culture without bloodshed, do one thing that worked: introduce something new wich is more interesting

Posted in: Principal fails in cover-up after student's rib fractured by teacher See in context

If what limboinjapan said about his daughter's experience was also what usually happened at that boy's school, then this is clearly the problem the school imposed on themselves. If a trivial thing, like misconducted outfit can easily make a student to be sent home, then it can also make a teacher fired. And If you humiliated a teenagers because of their outfit, some of them would rebel. No wonder the boy didn't conform to tuck his shirt...

a lot of people in Japan think that some corporal punishment is actually needed in order to become good citizen.

@Yukikochan yeah, just look at that teacher and the principal. I'll believe with 'a lot of people in japan' if those two get good spanking afterward (literally!!).
