Putin is too smart to be suicidal.

The exact same things were said about Hitler with his early successes in Europe. In the end, he committed suicide. Good thing Hitler had no atomic bomb or he would have taken more than just Germany with him. Putin has the bomb, many of them. When he starts losing he will look to them for salvation but in the end it will simply speed his own destruction, and that of many others.

Smart people begin to look foolish when they start to lose, and their confidence leaves them. If the GOP wins the upcoming US election, Putin's future is saved. If the Dems win, Putin loses along side the GOP. Or put in simple terms. Putin's victory hinges on a Trump victory.

So says this warmonger in chief days after Kremlin explicitly stated it has zero interest in attacking NATO. Slaps forehead.

Oh wow, The Kremlin explicitly stated did it. Well that makes us all about as safe as the average Ukrainian, since the Kremlin also previously explicitly stated it would not invade Ukraine. You should slap your forehead a few more times, it might help you realize that the Kremlin lies, alot.

that Trump's likely coming.

Trump cannot be elected to office. Congress previously voted on the Jan 6th issue during Trumps second impeachment, with a majority finding it to be an insurrection and that Trump instigated it. With that vote the US constitution forbids Trump from holding office again, unless a super majority of congress votes to redeem Trump (forgive his insurrection). So unless the US is now ignoring its own constitution, Trump is legally unable to hold office. It does not matter if he runs for president, or even if he wins that race, he is legally barred from office as things stand right now.

giant tunnel that was exposed in recent days underneath the central headquarters of UNRWA in the Gaza Strip.

Was that quickly made by Israeli engineers? With all their equipment and manpower i'm sure the excavation to create a tunnel would only take a few days for experienced Israeli builders.

Just like the outrageous images found to be made by Israelis to try to convince the world HAMAS did things they actually didnt do. Hamas makes many mistakes and committed a number of atrocities on Oct 7th, but why some in Israel's found it necessary to manufacture even more is confusing and not needed.

The continuing crime Israel is committing against Palestinians in the "so called" attempt to eradicate Hamas, who has many members outside of Israeli reach in other nations, can never be achieved and the government of Israel knows this well.

Members of the government have publicly stated they want Jewish settlements inside Gaza, and to take Gaza for Israel's use. Removing Palestinians allows for the continued destruction of buildings in preparation for new construction for settlements.

Well past time for the world to put a stop to all aid and trade with Israel. They must be stopped, this genocide must be stopped. There are no gas chambers being used, but the mass killing of Palestinians that is ongoing and planned seems to be reminiscent of another time last century when those being eradicated were Jews. The numbers are much less but the intent is clear. No state for Palestinians, no freedom to rule themselves in their own land and this time the aggressors are not Germans, but Israelis. Circle of horror is complete.

Palestinians once evacuated out of Palestinian territory will never be permitted to return. Ethnic cleansing in progress as the world watches on and does nothing to stop it.

Toothless UN again proving it can do nothing for the helpless. Time to scrap the UNSC and create a new mechanism with no power of veto for any nation. Majority consensus should decide.

Stay home and isolate when sick with either. Wear face masks in enclosed public places like shops and malls. Get Flu vaccination and covid booster shots. Disinfect often when shopping (take your own) after touching things others have handled.

Germs, bacteria and viruses dont take holidays, so when you drop your guard, thats when your most vulnerable yourself and most likely to pass on such things to those close to you.

Australia has stopped publishing data on covid infections and deaths, because the number continued to rise for both. Rather than give helpful information to keep the situation under control, they have decided to do nothing about it and instead accept growing numbers of dead.

The number of places giving booster shots has reduced and basically the situation, even through the summer months, has worsened.

Governments around the world have given up on protecting their populations and find it more convenient to hide information and ignore the growing pile of dead people who should have, and could have been saved.

At least Japan is still keeping people informed.

There's no place in nK you could hide...

Not really true. NK has much infrastructure underground and safe from nuclear strikes. He may get to live in his underground city but it is unlikely he would see the sun shine again.

But what does NK consider an attack? They have previously called comments a heinous verbal attack that required retribution etc.

SK has not just attacked NK out of the blue since the armistice was signed, unlike NK. That being the case it is much more likely the unstable regime in NK will simply attack SK without provocation as it has done a number of times including the initial invasion Kim's grandfather started. Such statements coming out of NK will continue. But lets hope they at least have the sense not to start a war with the new Russian technology and equipment they get for supplying Moscow with millions of rounds of artillery shells, and missiles to use against peaceful Ukraine.

Ships from U.S., Australia and Japan conduct joint drills in South China Sea in defiance of Beijing

Beijing has no right to stop vessels sailing in international waters period. So they enjoyed their rights to sail in the South China sea. Hardly worthy of being news.

China is only further embarrassing itself by its illegal attempts to limit or remove the rights of ships in international waters hundreds of miles from the nearest Chinese territory.

Nobody is listening to you China, nobody cares what you decree. To alter the current laws you must use the system to try to change them. So go through the UN and see what support you have. I'm guessing less than 10 nations. You wont get laws changed without overwhelming support and you dont have it, and wont get it. Causing tensions and crying about it wont change things either.

Time China and its leader grew up. Time for China to stop being petulant and tried being a good neighbor by asking others how it can help, and really listening.

One of major points of interview was decision by Kiev to launch a Civil War, using its military, against its own Russian speaking citizens in the Donbas in 2014.

Another incorrect and fake opinion. Separatists started the civil war, not Kyiv. Dont let a little thing like the truth stop your telling of lies. Russia armed separatists who began hostilities with Ukraine police and military, forcing an armed confrontation. Ukraine has every right to deal with criminals and separatists who shoot at officials and defense forces with assault rifles, tanks and artillery.

Do you have any other thoughts in your head other than insulting the top officials of states? It doesn’t matter which states, but the important thing is that you don’t have any right while sitting on a chair to speak insultingly to the heads of states of any states. Do you understand what we’re talking about at all?

He has every right to insult criminals like Putin. Putin and his "officials" being responsible for so many war crimes I cant even imagine the total number. from murder to rape to ethnic cleansing, and lets not forget kidnapping and indoctrinating those children to hate Ukraine while keeping them from their families. Those people deserve zero respect and @Fighto! can insult them all day long and be completely within his rights to do so.

Your fake indignity at this is both laughable and sad. Nobody can honestly think Putin is innocent. Even his supporters know he is responsible for the deaths of hundreds of thousands on both sides.

Putin, in rare U.S. interview, says Russia has no interest in wider war

Since he said Russia had no interest or intention of invading Ukraine, then it did exactly that, Putin's words in this "interview" are clearly meant to mislead those on the fence and reassure nervous Russian citizens of military age, before they get a call up to serve.

It is uncertain if Putin will ever be believed again by the west and indeed many other nations around the globe.

Finally, the veil of lies that is the western narrative of the Ukraine conflict - the usual, simplified 'cowboys/good-guys versus the others/bad-guys' comes crashing down in a flood of truth telling and fact.

Commentary from a misguided and incorrect poster. The flood of Putin's continued lies was obvious and telling. Autocrats like to sound reasonable and even enjoy playing the victim to shore up support. Russia is neither a victim or reasonable, it is a murderous regime that invaded its neighbor for its resources and territory.

With the death toll for both sides over 100,000 each the Russians have achieved only one of its objectives. A land corridor from Crimea to Russia. All other objectives remain unrealized.

It's not a war of aggression.

Open your eyes, it is nothing but a war of aggression!

So impressive Mr. Putin's impressive logic, history and understanding of the human condition.

Another blind observer with no clue of the truth, although it sits before his/her eyes daily.

The only impressive thing about Putin is his continued ability to lie with a straight face, and without bursting into laughter at the joke he continues to play on his people and supporters. I hope he gets caught and spends many years wasting away in a dank prison cell, like the one he has his main political opposition in right now.

A waste of time listening to both Tucker and Putin. Better things to do, like wash my socks.

No, they got the headline spot on! Your version is the Chinese pushed version, and astute readers can see through it easily. China is the one causing an arms buildup all through the region, including in Taiwan.

Blaming the US for Chinese belligerence is a bridge too far. Nobody but Russians, Iranian hardliners and North Koreans are buying into it.

Glad we don't live in NK, but also glad that they're having some success. Given enough NK success, reconciliation and peace with SK becomes more likely, not less.

You've got to be joking. It will make Kim and his family more convinced that a reunited Korea should be ruled by him, and less likely for any compromise. That is not closer to peace or reconciliation, it is further from it. Some people have a really weird way of interpreting reality.

Posted in: 'Star Wars' actor sues Disney with funding from Elon Musk's X See in context

Actors when employed in a tv series, are basically representatives of those they work for, for the duration of their active employment. Saying or doing anything that could potentially embarrass their employers, or put their employers in a difficult position because of things they say or do in the public eye, can end up badly for the actor. This is what happened to Gina Carano.

Gina has a right to voice her opinions, and employers have the right to end associations with those who say things they do not agree with, and find embarrassing to the point they worry about negative response from other companies they deal with and importantly the viewing public.

In this day and age, to protect their employment, actors need to stay firmly in the middle of all things at least until their contracts end. This protects both themselves, their jobs and their employers. Doing otherwise is a risk. Gina took a risk and in the end it didnt work out well. She should have learned from this experience, but instead seems to be doubling down.

The sacking was not over one thing but a number of posts about different things that were unacceptable to her employers.

When employers lose the right to protect their own image from harm due to actions of employees, then things will indeed have become untenable.

This is happening as a response to China making bases inside Philippines territory. China has been "stoking the fire" of regional tensions since Xi came to power. It should not surprise China that others in the region take counter measures.

Philippines needs to "harden" their islands and bases with long range radars, SAM's and anti ship missiles. And to increase activities with friends and allies in its waters.

China is the root cause of tensions and instability in the region, and until they cease to do their destabilizing things, its only going to escalate.

So many people are telling Japan what they need to do. Build bases on the islands. Being in actual possession of the islands makes a huge difference. Japan owns them, paid for and titled. Build on them and reduce the belligerence of China after an initial media barrage.

Has China even offered to buy them off Japan? Nope, not even a Chinese meal voucher at some local Chinese restaurant.

China doe little by established rules. It simply takes from others what it wants, by first building a huge maritime militia, Coast Guard and Navy, and pushing others physically out as it has done in Philippines and Vietnam. It builds bases to solidify illegal claims and unless Japan builds on the Senkaku islands, it is only a matter of time before China will.

Japan has had a long time to realise and to build, but has so far squandered its advantage. If it looses control to China, through China building on the islands, Japan will have only itself to blame for not having done so itself, in the years that it has had ample opportunity to do so. Man up Japan!

Everything comes from thinking about it. If you hypothetically think China is the enemy, then you MAKE China an enemy.

China has been positioning itself in such a way since Xi took over, that it is against all who follow rules, order and laws that have served the world for 75 years since the last major world wide conflict.

China and Russia want a new world order where chaos and military might determine right and wrong and govern the world. They want a system where they can do as they please without consequence, and to be able to punish dissenters abroad as they do domestically. So many of their international supporters refuse to admit it and champion them, misguided in imagining it will somehow be better for them, while ignoring the fact it will be a worse life for billions of people if they get their way.

Whats not clear?

China illegally encroaching on Philippine EEZ and interfering with Philippines fishermen, military boats and aircraft in Philippines territory. China has illegally built bases in Philippines territory.

China is trying to intimidate Japan in Japanese controlled territory, interfering with fishermen, JCG vessels and Japanese aircraft in Japanese territory. Again it is illegal, but they do it anyway.

Japan controls the Senkaku islands, China wants them.

China has occupied Philippines territory, because it wants it.

Is that clearer for you to understand?

*Corrected it for you.

Nobody should be surprised at China's escalation, likely to get MUCH worse soon, especially if we stay on failed Biden global destabilization path, which includes massive US militarization of Taiwan exactly like Ukraine.

Now your just making stuff up. US policy for all presidents is to arm Taiwan to defend its independence. No different under current US administration. Ukraine is asking for arms and is getting them so they can defend against Russia's invasion. The arms have come from about 40 different nations.

Cant blame Russia can you. So without using the truth, you twist information and add Russian and Chinese propaganda to round it off. So predictable.
