Posted in: Cosmetics giant Shiseido scales back animal testing See in context

Better than nothing . Europe is giving up animal testing all together. The USA ,the "scientists" that get paid to do this testing, are so stupid ,that doing the same tests ,on the same animals, with the same results, after 65 years ,still doesn't hit it home for them,I must conclude that scientists in the USA are all quite stupid .

Posted in: Finding good quality cheese a challenge in Japan See in context

I swear this is one of the reasons I decided not to move to Japan permanently . As a foodie ,missing out on some of my favorite foods, was just .....to hard for me . And the inability to get Italian cheeses, and cheddar ,means I cannot even make a true good pasta or Mac and cheese . This is why pizza there is just not the greatest . They don't real mozzarella to work with . Here,I buy homemade mozzarella .....just....too hard to give up !

All these alleged experts, touting this nonsense, are either working FOR big agro and Monsanto,or paid off by them. Do not believe a word of it TRUE ORGANIC food,as they also keep trying to lower organic standards ,so they can sell their own crap for more money ,is much better for everyone .

Posted in: Noriko Sakai to make comeback in December See in context

I don't think her arrest was because she did drugs. Her husband and his brother were selling drugs, and got caught. She went on the lam with them . When they got caught ,she was arrested as an accessory to selling and distributing drugs ,even though she didn't do it .She just covered up for her husband .

I think that's the story . She didn't have to clean up ,just finish serving her suspended. sentence . She's lucky she's gotten hired again at all,as an arrest there, usually ruins your career, permanently .

Posted in: Tsunami 'miracle pine' cut down as part of project to preserve it See in context

What none of you critics are getting,is, that the Japanese are very superstitious .It's dying, and to let it just die, given its a symbol of miracle ,would mean new calamity will befall the land .ergo ,even local residents will embrace this .Save its essence, and save the miracle .

If any of you are expats there, you've really learned very little about the people ,and how they respond react and think.

When I first went back to Japan after in 2000,I was shocked at how many girls had hip displaisia . They all walked pigeoned toed ,with both toes pointed so far inward,I had no idea how they walked in high heels. After being back for a while,I mentioned it to a friend, and she said...oh noooo.....no one has a physical problem . Everyone walks that way because its considered cute, and men like it. I have many Japanese friends, and none of them can deal with the entire dumb cute routine . Ugh

There's been a buta Don in the basement of shinjuku eki,for years. I want to say it opened around 2003 . They even sell their home made sauce .It's awesome. I'm not sure if its still there, but I hope so . I always got a large set ,with miso ,rice, and a salad. Mmmmmm.... I prefer buta Don to gyudon, for sure.

Its basically host girls wailing bad songs for guys to drool over.Theyre not especially talented, gorgeous,or fun, except to horny lame guys with no girlfriend. I saw that horror movie they did,and I stopped in the middle.I mean just dull.

I agree with bosozoku, but the rest, well just deal with it.HK is even louder, starting at 5am. I actually cannot deal with the woman who act like morons. The toes pointed in when they walk,to be cute ? The insipid giggling ,when they are barracudas in reality. They all want a gaijin man,but go berserk if they see a countryman with a gaijin woman.

This is nothing new.People from Nagasaki and Hiroshima, even today, carry a stigmatism, wherein ,no one will marry them, lest they have hibakusha in their familiy. They do not want offspring with a person who may have inferior genes. Hibakusha ,are born, even today,so...... Generally speaking,if theyve moved out of their hometown, they lie about where they are from.
