I have no idea about what the letters contain, but, kamikaze pilots were humans too, and I'm thinking that their human self will show through these letters in which they wouldn't have to fake patriotism if they didn't feel it, or if they felt it maybe it came across in a different way. In any way I agree with Alex.

Some of you just need to picture themselves in her shoe. Not everyone is able to think straight instantly and not everybody's flight and fight responses are the same. Especially if this was her first time getting groped or 'massaged', however you want to put it, victim might not have even been believing what was really going on till it was over.
That some of you are just laughing at it or hinting at stupidity is terrible. She's the victim here.
A 20-something girl, might still believe and trust people, especially since "dentist" really is a profession that should inspire trust!! Why do I have to always be on alert about everything? Mistrusting everyone? Always prepared to slap and kick anyone who approaches me? I'm guilty of being mistrusting to any guy unless he proves himself. All medical professionals I trust most are women, and those that are not, I have either worked with in my life or I get my bf to accompany me, and life shouldn't be like that.
As far as relaxation goes, maybe she was nervous and he abused of that premise, or maybe she couldn't think straight because she was a bit frightened too..we don't know. Or are you always able to think 100% straight, no matter where you are? I know I am a nervous wreck at the dentist, and I had to change many dentists in order to find one that inspires trust and that can handle a nervous wreck at drill-point like me without having to use sleep gas or anything similar. (the reason for that? My dentist as a kid would constantly show off how bad my teeth are to his colleagues and other kids, and being sarcastic to me while he worked on my teeth)

Posted in: Incest-themed TV anime sparks decency investigation See in context
...... I watched the preview of this anime and I found it hilarious not to mention that no it is not really incest anyway. It is true I have grown watching 1980s anime which at least had more decent storylines and sex (unless censored..where I watched anime they censored many reference to sex) was put in some sort of context, and nowadays I watch most anime and go "Uh..what??? What just happened?? What????" but it is up to parents to assess what is good and bad for their kids up to a certain age. Some things/shows, like videogames, are NOT meant for kids.
First and foremost, if a parent is so scared of his kids finding about the pervie stuff in the world through a show, I personally think that said parent has to make sure that kids understand what's going on in the show, to let the kid get his own idea of what 'wrong' and 'right' early on. I watched City hunter (Angel heart?) when I was age 6. I found the perversion funny, and dad would explain that some men can act like that, and he would also tell me to feel free and slap guys who get frisky and stuff. Whilst, my mom would go into a shouting fit, and drag me to the kitchen, away from exposure because "that's shameful".
What I find very disappointing is that some parents are scared of talking about 'taboo' subjects with their kids. It shouldn't be like that, especially in a society where sex is in every corner you look. What we need, so that 'kids don't engage in sex at early ages' is information and education, okay this might not work with ALL kids, but at least make them understand what's going on around them. I know I'm not exactly pro-stuff like this, and I hate that the world has to use sex so much, but information and education are good weapons. :)

Posted in: Vatican trove shows Catholic persecution in samurai-era Japan See in context
Missionaries weren't exactly spreading only God's word, so many cultures were lost during 'missionary missions'..but, the execution and persecution was also wrong, and terrible.
Still, when family points their fingers to the persecution of Catholics in Japan (we are Catholics) I just point out that yes, if any other religion tried to 'infiltrate' Catholic grounds, similar things would have happened. It was a question of power, because most people realized that religion can unite AND divide people, and it was a strong tool that could be exploited, unfortunately.
It is very sad that innocent people had to lose their lives for what they believed was truth, and this for me applies to any religion. Persecution is just wrong and as Catholic I know I can look at my religion's history and see lots of blood-shed: in history they were persecutors/eradicating cultures to be replaced by another one and persecuted. Personally both sides were wrong.

I live in front of the airport and the flying displays happen exactly over my head and house and I am fascinated about the precision of it all yet sometimes I get inundated with fear if I see any of them planes too low, and some of the acrobatic pilots seem to love my country because we are a flat country and low is..pretty low.

Yes, they can do everything and anything they want, it is not like I'm stopping them, but it may lead girls into thinking that that's the only way they attract men (i.e. exposing body...) and boys thinking that all girls are like that...until they hit full on maturity and realize that women are different, like men are different. The emphasis is always on the body.
So there full explanation. I'm not worried about the occasional cheerleading event much, I would feel better if they wore a shorts underneath :P. What I worry about is its integration and embodiment in society. The body sells, both male and female, always, advertisements know it..but sometimes I get tired of it all because I see girls always younger and younger who wear less and less and guys who are younger who hit the gym it is kind of sexualisation of the young minds. Maybe I was supposed to be born in the 18th Century though..that's all but I look at my young students and I get so worried.

It is not the length of the skirt, I hate it that women are always used for entertainment purposes, it irks me. What I hate even more is when girls voluntarily subject themselves to it..but to each his own eh. I wonder, where there male cheerleaders for the girls?
And even if there where. Do adults need cheerleaders in short skirts/shorts to be motivated? I'm sure I don't need a guy in fitted shorts to motivate me on my job search..it is the pay and social respect that accompanies a job that motivates me, that's all. (I have no idea how old the guys in the pic are..but some are thinking I'm an old geezer. I'm a 23 year old who was job searching last summer and still is up to now..my break was graduation celebrations)

I remember once when I was age 17-18, I helped a girl age 11 or 12 who had fell down the pavement and suffered quite extensive teeth and nose injuries. Being a first aider I just saw she wasn't in any big danger, cleaned blood and all the rest and saw that in this case it is better to go to her house since kid is underage anyway..needed mom's permission. So I went to her house, and her mother starting screaming and shouting..and this scene continued for a long time. I tried explaining that she must go to the clinic and dentist to put back teeth in place etc..but nope. She offended me, my family and all my ancestors and told me to never step there again and closed the door in my face. I can understand shock, and honestly I can accept being called names, but that girl needed to be seen by a doctor. From that day on I step with big caution.
@Thunderbird2- join! I wasn't punched for saving a cat though (maybe coz I'm a girl?), but they did throw stones at me and was saved by a grandpa.

I don't agree with any hunt that is so cruel, but this news IS damaging Japanese image abroad. Yesterday my blood was pretty much boiling about many comments on a certain newspaper article on fb. The comments from people were totally off, totally blaming ALL of Japan, linking WWII to this and calling for very bad thing, cursing Japan and so on and so forth. If it is economy which you might care about though, some were saying that they won't buy Japanese items and stuff. I know they're "ignorant comments" but you know, people affect people, and Japan's image in certain country is already not too good..this might just add more salt. Every comment added is more people watching the news and a probable damage to reputation. Thumb me down as much as you want, I hate, HATE reading racist comments about any country and I had prejudice against a group of people..it makes my low blood pressure become high blood pressure in an instant.

Aussi-musashi: Yes that's true, and Europe also did its best to move on from WWII! I said this in another post- there needs to be two parties for something to be forgiven: a sincerely apologetic country, and the victim that tries to forgive and move on. I don't know what goes on in schools, but I do not like the recent events about a nationalistic agenda. I never said that Japan was perfect. Japan though did make amends for WW2. I cannot say anything about history being taught in schools because I only had 5 years of history (and that was history of my country only..the rest of the world is ignored) and the things that I know about the world, I know them from taking genuine interest and reading many books, books which take on different approaches and perspectives.
I don't know about most Japanese, I never lived in Japan. Tell me are there any countries of the world who don't have those kind of people? The only difference is that in Japan it seems that they actually end up being PM. I have no idea why or how this happens..but that's what happens. I can speculate that maybe some Japanese don't care about what kind of beliefs a PM has as long as they think that they will bring some kind of 'good' things. (ex Abe-> economic reform). Also, I don't know if many of the young vote or not..if anything, both in Japan and in my country , they should raise awareness about how politics affects the world. Yes it is pretty scary but eventually we will be adults. (Growing up I never cared less about politics, it was and still is a corrupt world for me, but now I know that it is important...)

Sanyuyulai
Front page? This shows how effective China's worldwide broadcasting is. One may feels being disturbed, but when the wrong doer refused to accept history, the world need to do something to stop history being repeated.
It is not 'worldwide broadcasting'. It is propaganda of something which has been 70 years ago, something that has changed the entire world (or those involved in it) and brought to an end a certain kind of colonialism-ish politics (I stand to being corrected..I don't know politics).
So tell me, look at Japan's history after WWII, is is the history of a country that is blood thirsty or that of a conqueror? No! So what history being repeated? What it is is just the reopening of wounds and memories of people who have experienced WWII. Instead of letting time doing its course, China is just injecting fear and hate at every possible possibility and it puzzles me. To me, a person from Europe, China is just trying to make Japan look evil and bad, because of the recent 'militarization'. But, Japan didn't have a real army..and now it has! Doesn't China have an army? Doesn't Korea have an army? Doesn't Germany have an army? Doesn't Italy have an army? Doesn't England have an army? Isn't it right for any country to be able to defend itself with its own people?
Do you see Europe remembering and making constant propaganda against Germany because of WII? No! Yes, it happened, but you know, it was painful for BOTH sides, it was very painful..but now it is time to forgive. There was death, fear and tears everywhere...if it makes you feel better, maybe try and speak to Japanese who passed through the war and were on the victims' side themselves. I am not defending what Japan did during WWII, I'm just saying that both parties had victims.
