@Richard Gallagher

1.) So it has an average of 4-5 days....but a mean of 11.5 days to show symptoms. So based on a pool of people, the average of incubation period is both 4-5 days and 11.5 days?

2.) "The lambda and delta variants - the Pfizer vaccine is effective against those and other variants, as in Moderna."

This is false, Pfizer has been shown to be 42% effective against delta and Moderna is 76% effective. Reports have shown that Lambda is vaccine resistant.

The government knows the real numbers which is why they are calling for a 50% decline in foot traffic in Tokyo. The hospital beds are full and people are getting sent out of Tokyo (sometimes hours away) just to find an open bed. It's going to get really bad.

Luckily the hospitals and clinics are shutting down for a week so the numbers look low.

Wow! Only 2600?! That's way down!

Let's look at how many tests were conducted, surely at least 15,000....oh....only 5000 tests...

So...2600 positive out of 5000 tests.

No worries, Suga solved the issue.by telling people who have coronavirus to stay home and die so they dont fill up the hospital. Keep consuming, good citizens.

Suga today basically told people who have covid19 to just stay home and die, don't go to the hospital.

@ironbeard

I think the worst thing is the relaxed attitude combined with the lowest test numbers (2811 on 8/1) of any industrialized country (LA does Newmarket 10,000 tests a day now).

@ashley Shiba

It can't happen in Japan because of the outdated IT infrastructure and government bureaucracy.

Down 836 from yesterday but up 432 from last week's numbers. Don't forget that hospitals are turning away covid19 patients and doctors are leaving their volunteer positions at the olympics to go back to work at the hospital.
