Posted in: Inn in Ishikawa Prefecture opens its doors to travelers stranded in Japan due to COVID-19 See in context

Mark, Kag, thank you both for your concern. A lot of those early photos are from early March, long before the current rise in cases. While the number of cases in Japan remains small, governors are taking action, so even in prefectures that are far from experiencing a state of emergency, like here in Ishikawa where Kaname Inn is located, government officials are just this week asking citizens to practice social distancing. Room for Rescue guests are asked to keep their contacts over phone or email, and as an extra precaution, everyone reports their temperature each day, with an English-language emergency hotline a phone call away.

I know with the world as it is now, it can be scary and uncertain, but we can't let fear keep us from helping each other, and if anything, that's when we need each other the most. #weareallinthistogether
