Poverty? Low education? No discipline? Most of all the lack of self discipline as an individual is the problem in this country . Japanese people are not used to live independently. It requires education of what individual responsibility and freedom are but there is no such thing in this country. Japanese people are disciplined to live in a society as a component but not as an independent human.

The thing I don't want to hear is that we need to protect dolphins because they are cute and intelligent. These emotional statements sound very arrogant. We human need to eat. Some people can say eating vegetable is even cruel. Pigs are cute but they are not intelligent? Cow is OK to kill and eat? So contradictory story.

Hi, I'm a Japanese and I don't understand why our government has to take a risk to endorse whaling so devastatingly. I agree that whale meat tasts good but we can live without eating it.
