Kimura was an unstable personality, living in the fake world of reality TV. She, and others, never seemed to realize that she was just an actor playing a part in a well scripted show. The writers and producers are more responsible than the guys watching the show from their mother’s basement.

As a Pacific Islander we always used 74 mph winds as typhoon level, and this is about 20 mph below that.

@Mr. Kipling, both as in assault AND parental neglect.

With her boyfriend dead she and her lawyer will be concocting their story that he was responsible. Hopefully the judges will see through that fairy tale.

Quit his job, closed his bank account, moved out of his house, and now gambled away all the money? Guess he’s living in a cardboard box under a bridge now. Surprised his attorney could keep a straight face with the gambling story. And he must be working pro bono.

Posted in: Sunken boat exposes flaw in communications system by tour operator See in context

I find it highly unlikely the Captain would have been fired for not taking the boat out. He had several reasons to cancel, and it was his suggestion to use his personal phone. It’s not unreasonable to think he convinced the operator that it would be safe to continue. And he also had the option to return early.

Early in my aviation career I worked for a guy like Katsurada. We always joked if there were ever an accident, his first call would be to his insurance company.

Rental car GPS and cellphone activity show him on the campus and outside her room more than a dozen times in the days before she went missing. CC cameras have picked him up several times on campus between 10pm and 7am. Yet he claims to have met her by chance in the parking lot the night she disappeared. Used her credit card to buy an airline ticket. Suspected of sending bogus texts to her friends from her phone. Takes the long way back to return the car. Purchased cleaning supplies and bleach. I’d have no problem convicted him with this ‘flimsy and circumstantial’ evidence.
