Posted in: Is Japan really racist? See in context
I find it so sad and ironic that Japan and China are enemies and each looks at the other with contempt. There was a time in history (Tang dynasty) when Japan took on and adopted China's culture, written language, literature, architecture, dress, religion...and even regarded China in high esteem. Even today, Japan's written and partially it's spoken language is similar to Chinese. With common culture and language, you would think Japan and China would be close friends and allies (like England and US). But that's not to be. Instead Japan and US are close allies. Paradoxically, the country that is so foreign to Japan, the country that defeated them, and dropped 2 A-bombs on them, is best friends with Japan. It's a strange world we live in. Isn't it?
