kaimycahl, nothing is wrong.. it happened once and is very rare otherwise you'd see the same type of headline 15 times a day continuously or it would be soo common, it wouldn't even make the news.

Posted in: Poulter calls Matsuyama idiot for damaging green See in context

i wonder if Poulter ever apologized for the "loads of mistakes" he makes.. I doubt it. He seems like a sore looser that finds excuses for everything. Matsuyama manned up and apologized which is hard to do, he is the bigger man.

Strangerland: I think the deadman would take his chances if he was allowed to live that day again.

Posted in: Anti-U.S. base incumbent mayor re-elected in Nago See in context

Yubaru, The people have spoke.. and not only did they elect Inamine again, but they elected the Governor on the platform of removing Futenma MCAS off Island.. but he lied to them and at the last minute went with party loyalty, the LDP, and approved the relocation. This will throw a monkey wrench into big mainland contractors plans.. IF they want to move the base on Island, the cheapest way is to merge with Kadena AB, but that would put very few dollars into big business's pockets. The Henoko plan would drag on for 10 yrs and put billions in the bank for many mainland contractors however.

Posted in: It's hard to understand why the government intends not to ease even slightly Okinawa's burden (of hosting the bases) while allowing all Japanese people to equally enjoy the benefits of the Japan-U.S. See in context

Okinawans don't want war on their Island again and as long as bases are on Okinawa they will suffer in the event of war.

Cleo, overpopulation related starvation isn't a nice way to die either.. hunting keeps animals within the carrying capacity of the land.

Most women can't handle being a mother full time. Rather than admit it, they choose a career and claim that is what they really want. Everyone knows it's not true though and laugh at them when they try to act like someone they aren't.

Kwatt, it takes skill to make it look beautiful, however the dancing analogy implies cooperation which wouldn't require as much skill. To make it look beautiful without any cooperation by the opponent is very difficult due to the timing and sensitivity involved. Look at a clip on youtube of Mifune Judo and compare to Olympic Judo, no comparison.

Tessa, the blank looks you got were for some other reason because what you said made no sense. If soccer was changed by some international committee where you can run with the ball, then the English started loosing because they didn't do that, then you would be right. The "judo" they are using doesn't work when you are old or weak, they are using techniques that favor the big and strong, requiring less skill or at least strength and skill. It is moving back to the traditional way where someone doesn't go in there and jerk and pull with all his muscles then take someone to the mat.

Posted in: Female station attendant subdues violent passenger with judo throw See in context

Most martial arts is bs, judo is one of the exceptions but still, if a man or lady gets smashed in the face several times, she won't be able to grab his sufficiently to do seio-nage because they dont' practice getting hit in the face like that. In MMA they are use to getting hit in the face so they are better at actually using the techniques. This is why I doubt very much she was hit in the face and likely he slapped her hat or something and he was drunk.

Posted in: Female station attendant subdues violent passenger with judo throw See in context

Enough of the hype, lets get real. I doubt she was punched in the face several times, probably just grazed her hat like the guy said. Not many people can do a seio-nage on someone after a good battering in the face. Haven said that, I'm glad it she was able to subdue the guy who was probably drunk.

No "biggie" that the Okinawans don't want them there... who cares what they want right Yubaru? I say this because what is being "infered" here is that it is against local will of the democratic people of Okinawa.

If you act like your judgemental and intensed, focused and intelligent you're out the door. Buy some rap or reggie for the car and start dancing.. that gets these simple minded idiots.

Very few married people will admit failure so make comments like "it's what you make out of it" or "you have to work at it" etc.. all mean that it is difficult to get along and they are talking about coping with a sucky situation.

I'd say she is a WORSE roll model than before. I grew up with a mom and dad and am much better off and happier for it. Life is much more fullfilled and it was nice having a dad that worked and I got to come home to my mother and then dad came home after his job. Good life. I hope She gets married and the child has a balanced life full of love from a mother and father.

Another tidbit is that civilian land was seized and residents forced off it at gunpoint and huts bulldozed to the ground to make the bases in Okinawa. Towns grew around the base fences because they wanted to live close to their family tombs.

Anna, I agree. Kids learn a lot from their parents but sometimes interpret things the wrong way. I had parents that liked to bicker at each othe and as a result I feared the very thought of marriage. I still get nervous at the very thought of being trapped in a marriage where there is psycological conflict.

China is going to do what they want, and to speak to them in a tone as if we have our finger in their faces does nothing to improve relations. The media is partially to blame, for example this headline is pure stupidity.
