Rare earths not that rare in reality, just very damaging environmentally to extract and not very profitable.

I'm a geologist, they are in fact very rare and the US does not have any large scale commercial mines for producing them. New mines take decades to open. US use to mine them, but we've long since mined the known economically viable deposits. That's why mining many of the elements moved overseas.

Can't see that being negotiated without a regime change in Ukraine.

How about a regime change in Russia? After all, this is Putins war. Too bad he openly assainated his opponent.

@itsonlyrockandroll

So your saying over 13 years they spent less than the military does in 1. You ignoring the scientific and technological advancements that NASA developed that put us far ahead of our adversaries for over 30 years. Only now are other Nations catching up to what we had plans for. Your missing out on the huge military advantage this is gonna give China and Russia. A perpetual nuclear base high above America and Europe hovering over it 12 hours each day.

With 3 trillion in theoretical oil reserves and only 1.5 trillion proven, and with a 35 billion a year worldwide consumption rate. The world only really has at best 85 years before supply runs out. It's really not surprising to see that some of largest solar farms in the US are being funded by the largest oil and gas companies. They know they gotta move on if they want their businesses to be viable in a century.

Yeah clean diesel emits a small amount of pollutants, but so does your beloved EV infrastructure, just hidden further up the supply chain.

Unlike oil which pollutes the entire supply chain. You cry about open pit mines in the Congo but say nothing on the billions of dollars we spend every year remediating old coal oil and gas fields. Not to mention the hundreds of oil workers that loose their lives every year pumping it out of the ground. We also can't grow enough corn or wood or supply all the biodiesel we would need to fuel every car. We're going to have to transition to unlimited power ie Nuclear and Solar and have vehicles that can efficiently use that power.

Precision work is something that machinery actually do very well

Your right they probably should have said custom work. While machine do repeatable precision work well, it takes human input to make something custom and unique like this.

The amount of money saved is less than a single contract given to spaceX. US Debt is continuing to rise aggressively. Weakening dollar only adds more fuel to the fire.

Yes they should, Artists have to get special one day licensing in Japan anyway if they wish to make money off parodies of copyrighted works. OpenAI should have to pay similarly. Just because they're a company doesn't mean they get to ignore the laws everyone else has to follow.

He waited until the Stock Market closed yesterday before announcing the tariffs. That way the crash wouldn't ruin his "Liberation Day". Don't forget it was the Smoot-Hawley Tariff Act that really made the great depression so devastating.

To be frank he does not listen to economist or experts of any kind. At this point he's just surrounded himself with yes men. Who agree that any idea he has is a great one. His base supporters are exactly the same. He's ramming through these terrible policies without even understanding the ramifications and those around him refuse to tell him. He's so old though it's not like he'll live with any of the consequences.

I also firmly believe in knowing your enemy.

Brother liberals are not the enemy at the end of the day we're all American. Although you may look to designate your fellow citizens as enemies to placate your fears. It is exactly what the ruling elite wants, to divide us so they can enrich themselves. It happens in both parties and is the real issue we face, not these manufacred ones.

Waltz took responsibility and they will make sure this doesn't happen again

He blamed Goldberg for being in the chat and offered to public apology or resignation. Instead he merely acknowledged it happened. Republicans were right about Clinton when she used her personal email, but this is absolutely way worse. Especially, when one of the groups recipients was literally in Russia, under the eye of the KGB, messaging as part of the group.

They're doing everything they can to pay for that tax cut for billionaires. The rest of us can just suffer with reduced benefits and a floundering medical system. The rich will of course still be able to buy all the healthcare they need.

Your not keeping up with the markets they already have begun selling off bonds. That's what tanked the Dow Jones. They've also been very direct that they're willing to sell off even more. Raising tariffs isn't the actions of people that want to be your allies. They'll be treated as such.

All Japan really needs to do is ask the US debt that they bought up to be paid back in full immediately. Trump may think himself a strong man; he's quickly having reality shoved in his face.
