I love how people give the "thumbs down" on people who post a "positive" comment about AKB48. I like them for their entertainment value even if the group is somewhat over-exposed and commercialized.

Don't click on an akb48 articles all the time just to complain, you know what its going to be about yet you still click on the link.... AND now let the negative backlash begin!

which is wrong? people clicking on the link because their a fan of a pop group known as AKB48 or... people who know they don't like it but click the link anywayz just to crap on? there's opinion and then theres crap distinguish between the two and enjoy the fact that the group is current apart of Japans popular culture. **no point marking my comment bad because I doubt I'll c it :)

As an AKB fan even I hit my limits on this one, way too creepy and untasteful.

lol I like them all. Been liking everything lately, no hatin' over here :) even bitter melon<- which used to be my enemy lol.

I never understood american shows when they always made brocolli out to be like something disgusting... its one of the better vegetables in my opinion.

Posted in: Why do so many Japanese women take photos of their food at restaurants and post it on Facebook or their blogs? See in context

would restaurants even care? free advertising through PWOM(positive word of mouth). I mean you could just tell your friends you ate this really good dish at whatever, describing it in every tantalizing detail, the curiosity might be enough for them to go, but Im sure having visual cues would handy.

When I try to imagine a "Flying Get", I think of a dog jumping to catch a frisbee, a Nadeshiko player doing an airborne header, or some anime characters either doing battle or smooching midair. Am I close?

well according to wiki is the Japanese Internet slang word for buying a computer game, a music CD, etc. more than a day earlier than its official release date specified by manufacturer. **and we know wiki is reliable :)

and. p.s. you say their fans are otaku and old men trolling the net for anything AKB48 related, but what seems more creepy are the people sitting on their comp, coming back/looking at any post they "disagree" to post crap about it. Theres opinion and then theres talking crap just to be heard.

Posted in: Marvel: New Ultimate Spider-Man boasts big changes See in context

dw hes still alive only in the "ultimate" universe has peter parker died. i.e. so in the main marvel universe hes fine, theres just alternate universes probably so they can release more "issues" and stories that have slight changes from the main one. i.e. in the ultimates - nick fury is black, even though in the main one hes white which confused me in the movies when i wondered why they decided to go with the ultimate version but still meh. etc and a bunch of other stuff

you know what? kinda over the over critical people everywhere these days, where they think a movies crap because of this and that, or music, it's like just enjoy it for what it is. As long as Akb48 don't do shit like drugs, beat on peopleCough chris brown then they'll stay in my good books. They at least work harder then the other idols out there.

After the producer/composer/song writer/record company there is probably very little money left to divide among all of those members of the group.

true, i think its more about getting their image out to the public and obtain popularity through their albums, akb programs(tv shows) etc. , then like the more popular members of AKB start releasing photobooks, appearing in other variety programs, solo debut, sub-unit releases, posing for magazines etc. current earnings.

Maeda Atsuko (19) – 20 million yen (~243,140 USD)

Shinoda Mariko (24) – 20 million yen (~242,140 USD)

Oshima Yuko (21) – 18 million yen (~218,502 USD)

Kojima Haruna (22) – 16 million yen (~194,224 USD)

Itano Tomomi (19) – 16 million yen (~194,224 USD)

@herefornow

Interesting contrast between this photo of AKB48, and the one from yestedray of the Korean group KARA. IMHO, KARA's members appear to have much more class and are more "womanly".

theres a reason for that, if you look at Japan, majority of idol groups are all focusing on the image of youth, while south korean groups as you say more "womanly", a big reason why these types of South Korean groups are now becoming popular in Japan as it provides Japanese girls with something different.

sad news, but you know whats impressive, trains resuming after 20 mins, here in melb, australia, if that kind of incident occured, I believe the trains would stop for the whole day and forced to use buses or other means to try and get home.

the reception they recieved and after the shock of such (dare I say) a dirty city.

actually I'd agree, though i won't say this about all people in paris, from my experience when I was there(so yes, I've been there) just because the city gets cleaned up everyday, does not mean leave rubbish anywhere you please and not saying sorry or excuse me when pushing past people. Only enjoyed the landmarks. If I was to make a book, it'd be on why I love Japan since I actually feel more at home there then here in Australia -.-

Amazing boy - same age as my son. He probably could have left to save himself but toughed out the nine days to care for his grandmother.

although a nice thought, syas right there the teenager, who was suffering from a hypothermia, had been unable until Sunday to pull himself from the wreckage. Still a good moment to be able to still find survivors.

Main problem here are bored parents, who find their life empty so decide to complain.

< “I don’t get what they hope to gain by putting themselves out there like that.”

you complain about any issue that might just make your life that much more interesting.
