While I learning japanese in my first year, I had a feeling like "boku" is for high-school boys until I've had a dinner with a retired intelligent japanese senior executive that passed his decades in abroad, and managed thousands of people, he was using "boku" in his impressive speeches consistently that I adapted the usage to myself.

This is my fifth year as boku and I never felt any disadvantage.

My look is overly-masculin enough, if I call myself "Ore", I will only give bitter taste and thrill to these womans that got surveyed.

Both presidents of Japan and Korea elevated/used/speculated the historical tensions for their local election successes to hide the economical failures and they can't step back from now on, since both of them heavily rely on nationalistic ideologies. Abe's Akihabara rally back three weeks ago, was terribly unfriendly and had a huge impact on Korean media, the other guy just blaming Japan for everything and try to consolidate the votes.

Now the situation is getting out of their hands just in two weeks.

While there are thousands of more serious problems regarding to the placement of japanese woman in society, dealing with high heels is kind of funny and insincere for me, especially so called movement is lead by not a real careerwoman. How about dealing with other vital problems of woman? DV, power harrassement, sex workers, single mothers, inequality etc...?

I guess they will not bring sympathetic fame that high heels brought to her, especially for the government.

Regarding to women rights, Japan is in the first floor of Maslow's pyramide, there are tons of things to deal before shoes.

Final solid proof for that is, Germany has compensated to all the victims of Anti-Gay Law during Nazi Regime on 2017 in Germany and in Poland. Or continuous new compensations that has been paid to Jews "Germany has agreed to pay an extra 800 million euros (£685 million) to help care for Jewish survivors of the Nazi Holocaust." (2013)

Before you are so proud of this one have you considered that it can be used against your side, in that apologies even in Europe where people are relatively rational do mean unlimited de facto (if not de jure) liability, just as the Japanese side points out?

The so called maganimous policy doesn't work, not even in Europe and Germany.

I proud to be European, "so called maganimous policies" are putting the human lives and conditions to the first place, if they preferred to hide under the juridicial liability of 1940s conditions for their actions (there were not juridicial liability at that time to condemn some violent policies of Nazi regime towards humanity / excluding war) , there were not any 70 years of peace in Europe. Thanks God that they did, and it worked.

There is nobody in that photograph that is even close to being old enough to have been a victim of slave labor. Koreans really need to get a new hobby. The 'Japan hate club' is getting pretty stale.

It's shocking and ironical to see some of the commentators asking and advising about the democracy and free-speech.

However, once the subject came to past war-time issues, they suddenly started to condemn everyone as brainwashed, as idiot and ignore all the issues.

The treaty between Japan and Korea was signed under cold-war conditions under the strong domination of U.S to make a peace without having all matters reviewed.

Even though, I want to remind all of you Germany and German companies consistently continues to compensate all the victims, even after treaty, even for the reasons that doesn't get discussed on the court.

It's disappointing to see, so many commentators condemning Koreans that raising their concerns as brainwashed.

Something is not equal, can't you see?

Go for it PM Abe and Aso-sensei, everything is perfect and will be much more better after the tax hike! We are happy to live in a prosperous country in humanitarian conditions.

Most of the women candidates are from opposition parties that unfortunately doesn't have any chance to win. There is nothing to get excited to feel somethings are changing finally.

Each time, when there is an article about the population decline, I see tons of answers that contains same sentence "Japan invested a lot to Ai and robotics.."

That's total joke and groundless claim. I just want to wake up the people that believing this claim.

Based on the EU's 2018 report about AI Readiness, Japan is only 10th in the world competing with Spain, not even a level that comparable with UK, Scandinavian countries and South Korea.

*Please note that developing countries such as China, Israel, Taiwan, India, Turkey not even included on the comparison.

There are couple of reasons for that:

1) Archaic business style, which depends on crowded teams

2)Low average computer skill (IT Maturity)

3)Low readiness to get adapted to new systems/programs

4) and most importantly, AI is like a continuous wall that each new development/software can be described as a brick, you need to add a new brick from everywhere around the world continuously. And, without making an effort to understand other countries' softwares and systems, rejecting them culturally and in language perspective. You are always doomed to be late, this is not like making car or television in 2-3 years and presenting to the customer after quality control, you need to be fast, and need to be open to evolve on the road.

If you understanding only "packaging tomatoes" by AI and robotics, and you believe it will solve population decline in this way, you can continue to believe that everything gonna be alright.

He is extremely snob, but there is no meaning to blame him. He knows that he'll be elected again, whatever he says or executes.

Japanese society needs to look how they created and tolerated this apathetic governance style for decades while they have a chance to change by their votes and why they are not doing anything to change yet.

I started to believe that all society has Stockholm syndrome.

There are increasing number of japaneses, criticizing both the laws and the general stance of the society. Recently, there is a group called "stop baby-car haters".

I hate to give a comment based on my personal experiences, however:

Honestly, I can say agree to the quote of the day. I've both lived in Turkey, France and in Japan as an expat consecutively, Japan is the most difficult place to raise my children who is 5 years old now, although even he acts as per general manners, I can feel the people's impatience and uncomfortability towards him, if we are in a place that doesn't designated for "only" children.

Comparing to Turkey, a place that puts children / family to the front seat somewhat exaggeratingly, or France who treat everyone as equal, Japan is extremely discriminative to children and families with children.

undiagnosed & untreated mental illnesses are the biggest reason on the increase of such kind of incidents, if it's continue to be taboo for the people to seek psychological advice or treatment in here or if the health-service providers continue to prescript the pills only without involving the cases sensitively, unfortunately, we'll continue to see much more tragic incident with an accelarated pace.

Historically, japan as a society, hiding mental illnesses inside of the family to defuse the potentially harmful mentally ill person and to be ashamed as a family, however, now there is nobody to stop/keep an eye on theses single psychos to prevent them to harm people.

In the future, there will be tragical correlation between single households and violent loonie attacks and consequences in this society.
