I'm glad to see the real DragonBall Z make a come back, especially after that disaster of a movie. I'm looking forward to it.

Can we stop with the 'Takuya Kimura is a girl' comments, he looks nothing like a woman. If you really think he's a girl, then there is something wrong with your eyesight.

Isn't it possible that they were already engaged to get married and in the process of planing the wedding she got pregnant? That does happen.

And who's to say they wasn't using protection? Stuff happens. No form of protection, other than abstinence is 100% effective.

Even if I was a fan, there's no way I would buy this album. I would just take the $40 and donate it to charity.

And even though this is more than likely Johnny's doing and not SMAP's, they really should have put their foot down and demanded that at least 50% went to charity.

Given their track record with other adaptations I have no hope that this movie will be good at all.

I honestly don't know why they bother with it. They muck up the story so badly fans of the original don't want to see it and I doubt they'll attract any new fans, if people wasn't interested in the original, why would they want to see the adaptations?

Actually Kobayashi had two officials there so there's a chance the record could be counted. Nathans is just a contest, it has no bearing on any world records.

It's nice to see Japanese artists get recognised in other countries, and it's nice to see some bands perform outside of Japan. I'm no fan of X Japan but it's nice to see someone get somewhere.

And hoserfella, what is your problem with X Japan? I understand not being a fan, but I don't get this intense hatred.

I'm with you Dubya. As much as I want to help Japan, there's no way i'm buying an album with both John Lennon and Lady GaGa on it.

I'll just make a donation to Red Cross.

Why is everyone surprised, that's how Johnny usually dresses. He doesn't dress up unless he needs to.

Personally i like that he doesn't feel the need to dress like some uptight celebrity, I love his laid-back attitude.

Oberst, he's not in a boy band, he actually plays instruments (piano, drums)

While i'm not a fan of the band, the music is pretty good, it's the singing that a major turn-off.

And for a 45 year old, he's pretty good looking.

Dubya, I don't know who you saw in 94 but Yoshiki doesn't play guitar.

It's nice to see Japaneses bands get some recognition in America. I wish it was a band better than X Japan, but hopefully better bands will get some attention soon.

Not trying to blame the victim here but is it possible that her husband did something to push her over the edge? There's not that many people that would go as far as to set someone on fire, either they're insane or they're enraged. As angry as I've been with someone, I've never thought to set them on fire. And this isn't a young girl this is a grown woman, who knows what she's put up with over the years.

@DuraAce: Just because you're not of fan of Japanese music doesn't mean it's crap. Who made you the judge of what's good and what's not?

You don't like it? Good that's fine, it doesn't mean it's terrible, it means it's not for you.

Posted in: Does J-pop really suck? See in context

One can't really say yes or no, it's not gonna appeal to everybody, some will love it, some will hate it. Personally I listen to whatever sounds good whether it pop, R&B, rap or rock.

But this line here 'Problem is, Japanese just can't make good music naturally. They look and sound too robotic.' is just a load of BS! There are lots of Japanese bands and artists out there that make great music.

Okay, this is kinda silly and rather pointless. I could understand the bars and such but a train? That's a bit much.

Now if they actually get a butler train set up, call me! ;)

Posted in: Sunset See in context

For those asking about the difference between a sunset and sunrise, I find that sunsets tent to tint the sky orange while sunrises tend to tint the sky pink.

I think the main thing is a sunset is going from light to dark so the sky is dimming and a sunrise is going from dark to light so the sky is lighting up.

Posted in: Kobayashi leaves jail after hot dog contest fracas See in context

I do get where some people feel that he shouldn't have gotten onstage, and I agree with that, but:

He wasn't a real threat.

He wasn't just anybody off the street. If some random person jumped onstage, then yes, you take him down, you have no idea who that person is or what he's trying to do. But they knew this guy, they worked with him for years, there was no need for all the drama. All they did was draw more attention to him instead of the contest.

He didn't interrupt the contest, it went on with out any hassles. If he really wanted to cause a scene he could have jumped the stage before or during the contest, or made a scene in the crowd during the contest.

He was banned from the contest, he didn't participate in the contest, he didn't break any rules.

I've said for the longest time that MLE want Chestnut to be the centerpiece of their organization, but outside of competitive eating, no one knows who he is. The guy's not interesting, He's not entertaining, and he has an attitude.

Posted in: Kobayashi leaves jail after hot dog contest fracas See in context

I agree, I don't think he should have gotten on stage, but I don't think they needed to go as far as they did. They could have just escorted him off to the back, he wasn't a treat to anyone, and he just wasn't anybody off the street.
