Yeah, is Mitsubishi just simply a subsidiary of Nissan now, then?

This TRULY a great accomplishment. Congratulations to both of these men and all the people who aided them.

I was talking to a friend form Okinawa recently. He was saying that people from Okinawa really want a governor who agrees with their anti-base sentiments. But, unfortunately, it is Tokyo that makes the decisions, and nothing looks like it is going to change in the near future. At least they have someone who can voice their concerns. We all wish that Japan could take care of their own security concerns, but now is not the right time for the US to move out...will there ever be that time? Hmmm. Right after the US pulled out of the Philippines, China started their fight for disputed islands, remember.

I would never do that...but very sad and I understand. Peace to both of them.

My wife is a Japanese public school teacher. She was asked by her vice-principal not to have a baby for at least 2 years because of the responsibilities that they were giving to her. So, it definitely happens.

I mean, people who say that the police overreacted need to wait a minute. First of all, I don't think that there is enough information in this article to tell us that. The only thing I read is that a police received cuts on the face with the knife. This sounds serious-enough that deadly force might have been warranted--but I don't know. Those knife-proof vests that Japanese police wear don't work if you get slashed in the face.
