They deserve proper rights and protections and should be naturalized.

You mean like the japanese part-time and temp workers who sleep in parks and in tent villages ? or like those who sleep in Ikebukuro station ? You think layoffs only include foreigners ? You can not force people to become japanese, they just have to fill in forms and speak japanese !

“We are Brazilians!” they shouted in unison. “Companies must stop using us like disposable labor.”

Just imagine mexicans doing so in New York...that's a complete joke. You are brazilians ? so what ? you deserve better that iranians or nigerians ?

And still a lot of people on JT keep saying that Japan should welcome more refugees, more foreigners, more workers from abroad when the locals have hard times. Those people in parks and in internet cafes are japanese and speak japanese and have really problems finding jobs and shelters and Japan should bring more people who would probably line up after those ? A lot of them are young, it's not about age or diploma, there is really a problem with employment now. Next time we will talk about japanese borders and jobs for people we should link to this picture, just in case.

Where is the vital DNA evidence? If there was any, it would have been submitted already. This sucks.

Man admits slaying Hiroshima girl Sweat on school uniform matches suspect's DNA

So you were at the trial in Hiroshima and can confirm to us that the DNA tests was not among the evidences ?

Good idea for a retrial. Next time he get death penalty.

PS: Hey wait we are on JT ! Police fabricated the evidence, got forced confession, faked the DNA tests, and even created criminal records in Peru....I really forgot that now !

Or is it all based on a confession from some unemployed newspaper delivery guy that can't even speak Japanese....?

Yeah right ! This guy is really unlucky, in Peru he had 2 sex crime records and did jail for that and just after arriving in Japan he ends up living just next to the place where the victim was found.Very unlucky and propably innocent.

Stop seeing race in every human action that happens in this country, you'll be a lot happier.

Are you sayin' that race is never an issue on JT ? even when it involves a gaijin trial like this one ? LOL...

Wow look an oyaji convention. I wonder if the had a special Depends Diaper machine on hand for them.

Because all young japanese people dream about farming....?

Is it true that the government protect the local rice industry because it is a matter of national security?

So you know rich countries that don't help farmers ? You should check about agricultural subsidy and WTO sometimes...

Yep, say no more, trial by media.

And by peruvian justice. Did time because he "liked" kids too much.

So if he is a gaijin he is probably innocent (forced confession, bad translation bla bla bla) but if he was a japanese he should be hanged without retrial, right Dogdog?

Very hard for foreign companies to face govt controlled NTT

Please! NTT is a carrier and Nokia a phone maker. Don't compare oranges and apples. Nokia had his chances, their phones were included in collections from Docomo and Vodafone and then by Softbank (see ? their phones were in 2 of 3 japanese carriers catalogs) but they were just not attractives, they were just hugly and with limited technology. Consumers just did not buy them, that's all. They did not like them. If consumers don't buy them don't blame the carrier or the market or the consumers. If a european TV maker tries to sell its TV's sets in Japan but decide to pull out from japanese market will you blame "govt controlled" NHK or the japanese TV channels for their poor programs ?

Nokia, maker of ugly phones to pull out of Japanese market

I still can't believe they tried to sell those ugly foreign phones here. Big, ugly, and a horrible LCD screen, even some TV remote controller have better LCD screen. Even japanese kids phones have more fonctions than the high-end model from Nokia

@taiko666

They may have that technology but we all know where they spied it....come on J-Phone was the first company who sold cellphone with camera and Nokia was still making non-colored LCD screen....only displaying phone number.

which opens in Japan on Jan 24

After the whole planet have seen it, Japan will see this movie on Jan 24 2009 ! After Turkey, after Peru, after Nigeria, after Kenya, after Equador all those countries and many others get the film on november 2008 but Japan will see it on Jan 24 2009 and it's a Sony film ! I really don't understand why we get movies at the cinema when the whole world have already seen them and are already getting the DVD or the Blu-Ray Disc.....

I'm from the US and we have wonderful health care

LOL ! We in Japan have also watched Michael Moore documentary called "Sicko" and we saw how "wonderful" is US health care with the HMO and american citizens crossing US-Canada border to get treatment in Canada...thank you tkoind2 for this great joke !

Japanese hospitals are maybe in crisis but at least you can get a treatment for a cheap price. They are certainly not perfect but still japanese hospitals are working last time I used them (1 month ago).

Yamanote was ridiculously busy all day because of it

"because of it" we do not have rail crashes like those abroad and particularly in UK, "because of it" we have an efficient rail network, "because of it" we have regularly brand new rail profile, "because of it" we have a better rail network than the british one. But again, you always need something to complain about... Is there any engineer who can explain us how to change rail profile whitout having to stop trains ?

More than 6 months to reach japanese shores ! They had enough time to finish "Wall-E 2" and "Wall-E 3" before the first one is released in Japan.... Never understood why it takes so long to see some movies released here.

Hunt in your own waters Japan!

Actually some foreign banks are willing to be hunted no need to look for them, some of them asked japanese banks for help and want to sell some of their own shares. Ironic isn't it ? especially for those who spent hours on this board talking about dying and indebted japanese mega banks....

The case came to light when the wrestler’s wallet containing a Russian-made cigarette and his alien registration card was handed in to police after he lost it on a street.

What is really funny or strange is that people on this board do not see this kind of detail. Surely it must be a strange behavior in western countries.
