Good. What an idiot for making a comment like that.

What the hell is with all the ignorant "America food is crap unless you sell your first newborn" posts? This is hilarious reading this crap as an American! Have any of these people lived in America? No, visiting for a month or so does not count. Seriously....way to go Internet.

Very decisive talking I see here from the Japanese government.

Seriously, Ron Paul is the only Presidential candidate that I really perceive as above "politics" in the traditional American sense. He is openly mocked by the media for what he represents and offers to the American people;sadly, so many people are influenced easily by the mass media so they just dismiss him as a serious candidate. His beliefs are extreme (relatively), but they are backed up with education and reason. I hope that someday his methodology and immunity to corporate influence will become a major part of American politics.

This is related because the report is about people who are tired of politicians being puppets of corporations.

Somehow a news report detailing the removal of tariffs on US products is related to Michelle Bachman. Fascinating.

Posted in: Japan to offer 10,000 free trips to foreigners to boost tourism industry See in context

I'm a US citizen whom studied abroad in Japan during college and absolutely LOVED IT! I've been dreaming about the day I go back, but with the insane travel costs and unfavorable exchange rate, it just seems realistically impossible. I am hopeful my application to the JET program is successful, because I don't see any other way to visit Japan without going broke.

This kind of gesture is a bit surprising, but I must say that the money is better off being spent elsewhere. Sure, you are saving visitors hundreds of dollars-but that still doesn't change the fact that Japan is just so expensive to visit.

PT24881, what the hell is the point of bring up the whaling issue? The overfishing crisis is an international issue that all countries have a stake in. The "whaling" issue is pretty specific to Japanese politics wouldn't you say?

I'm so very amused by the fact that these women are referred to as "comfort" women. It's like they are cattle, I feel sorry for them. I support the idea that we (humanity) should look towards the future, but to say "the past is the past" is ignorant and naive. People need to learn from their past and consider the feelings of others. This blatant hypocrisy by Japanese politicians once again baffles me of their superiority-victim complex.
