Posted in: Japanese volunteer fighting for Ukraine dies in war See in context

Why don't all the woke liberals also sign up for the war against Russia and make a name for yourselves?

But remember this. When the Soviet Union fell apart there was an agreement that joining NATO was off limits for all former Soviet territories/republics, especially Ukraine which has control of the largely Russian Crimea where it has had a warm water fleet on the Black Sea for 250 years. It is a key to Russia's southern defenses. Indeed, most of the Crimea and eastern Ukraine would choose to be Russian, not Ukranian.

However, the US has been meddling in Ukranian affairs for a long time now, funding the Orange Revolution and the overthrow of a duly elected government. Russia said enough is enough especially with the acidic and provocative Biden regime. So Russia invaded territory strategic to its long term national interests as any nation would. Ukranian membership in NATO is clearly a mortal threat to Russia. The incompetent Biden administration, ramrodded into office by Covid-related factors and misinformation, continues to supply arms and fight a proxy war there. Russia and Ukraine, two Slavic and primarily Orthodox nations, are now essentially in a civil war with the West making a killing providing arms and strategic intelligence to the one it favors. For what?

Well, apparentlly its allows for "brave and heroic" volunteers to go there and lose their lives like this poor Japanese man; and then us to comment on it as self-virtuing computer warriors. Astounding. What a world we live in!

That there apparently is a burgeoning industry for "sex-scene experts" is a sad reflection on our society today on many levels. If Hollywood disappeared off the face of the earth that would be a great blessing.

Now that rates are trending downwards and that really hardly anyone in the West wears a mask anymore, isn't it time the Japanese take their masks off? I dont see how it can be healthy to be wearing a mask all day. I sincerely say this.

Secondly, isn't it in our culture and humanity to see a smiling face, and best of all a laughing face? It's a positive daily pick up for our mental health and welfare.

Lastly, wouldn't it be in the best interest of a functioning society for its members of the opposite sex to see a prospective mate's face, possibly leading to marriage and reproducing? Sexual attraction is a very visible matter that no one can deny. We all know the situation in Japan in this regard.

Japan, you're in a tough spot as the US is no longer a reliable ally. America experienced a coup d'etat on Sept. 11 and nobody knows who runs the country anymore. It's become very embarrassing.

How could someone even argue against the fact that wearing a mask for 10 hours a day is not healthy and in fact detrimental to one's health? Even without a scientific background as most of the posters here are on Japan Today, anyone would know or lean this way. Indeed, it stresses the body. I would therefore posit overuse of the mask weakens the immune system.

As a person who questions everything, I can look at this and see an argument to be made there was a conspiracy to assassinate Abe based on the performance of the security, which was absolutely inept and pathetic. Your average man on the street and then of his high school buddies could have done better. Seriously.

Did no one else find it too coincidental that the assassin lived only a train station away? Pretty convenient. The one man with a so-called grudge against a CIA-backed church lives only 10 minutes away. Why the sudden change to go to Nara, too?

Japan is one of the most highly vaccinated and masked countries in the world and now they are on the 7th wave of infections. What does this tell us? Neither are effective.

Seriously, how long are they going to make people get vaccinated, boosted, tested, masked? If you haven't been vaccinated by now, you probably have had Covid and thus the antibodies. AND, unless you are over 70 years old, you have a snowball's chance of ending up in the hospital, but even in that rare case, who cares?

Finally, some common sense.

China isn't the most hated in Asia - the USA , Japan and the colonial alliance are !

As an American I wholeheartedly agree. America post-Sept. 11 butchered innocent Iraqis and Afghanis as we did to the Vietnamese. For what? For whom and why? However, this alliance between Japan and Vietnam against China is orchestrated by the West and certain radical factions who currently control Western governments. WWIII seems to be in the air with all these alliances forming, especially with the decay of America into a cesspool of wokeness and disinformation to justify support of the Ukraine over Russia. The world is spiraling into hell, at least as I see it.

Prince, princess. Two irrelevant words today, Un the big picture. Tradition and science, though, should be duly understood. Transgenderism? These are mentally deranged or mentally unstable people without any doubt whatsoever. A Darwinian dead end for their genes and the only way it will spread is by evil woke liberals who are without any doubt mentally unstable, too.

If the whole country is getting vaccinated by government "mandate", and this said vaccine is effective, why are they afraid of fireworks? This b o g g l e s my mind. 1984? Orwellian logic? Unbelievable. I cannot grasp the arguments and logic of these people anymore. It is truly absurd.

Anyone who has been around Asakusa / Kuramae area for this fireworks festival will surely understand the reasons for the cancellation!

Anyone who has travelled on a train in Tokyo during rush hour will surely understand the reasons for their cancellation! Oh, my bad. They haven't been cancelled!

Yet if there was an super spreader incubator for Covid this would be number one. So Joanne what is your point? Covid is here. We live with it but sane people don't fear it and cancel a major Japanese summer event.

One more point. Many Japanese are vaccinated, so again, make some sense of your point. I really don't see it.

Posted in: Tokyo cancels Sumida River fireworks festival for 3rd straight year See in context

To shut down an outdoor summer event 3 years running such as the Sumida Fireworks when people will be socially distanced is the height of paranoid absurdity. What in God's name are people so afraid of? People having fun and giving some semblance of return to normal life? This is the perfect example of power wielding peons not knowing science in positions of making policy. What does anyone have to fear from a fireworks display? Really, my God, people have become insane because of covid and fear their shadows even when they can't even see them.

Now, if I were a male to female transgender what would I do? I would be cognizant of the fact that were I to go into a women's restroom I would more likely cause distress than were I to go into a men's bathroom. Therefore, I would have used the men's room.

Open and shut case. The "transgender" admits to being a male, being born of an XY chromosome pair. He should not have been in a women's bathroom. He should of just walked into the men's room and done his business. I would have been taken aback but I would immediately have known what the deal was. No harm done and i would have had no fear, but a women would think otherwise.

The transgender woman in her 40s, who police later confirmed entered the ladies' room in May last year, has told investigators she knew she was not supposed to use the facility because her gender is listed as male on the family registry.

Although COVID-19 cases and deaths have fallen lately in Japan, worries are growing about another “sixth wave” of infections because of the omicron variant.

Science, real science and then just common sense! In our hands and in our minds we know it by innate intuition. The world is ablaze and in a buzz about Covid-19 and clearly under stress. Useless and contradictory information on a daily basis comes to us in a frenzy, but at this point we--all of us-- know the "vaccines" do work. This is clear. No doubts whatsoever. There is no vaccine and the Emperor wears no clothes. Why is the bar always and ever changing? I f you haven't grasped it by now, you never ever will. God bless you none the less as a I truly feel sorry for you. Ignorance is the cancer which has become your karma.
