Disillusioned:

I was in a departo in Chiba city and at least half a dozen women started screaming and running for the exits. The people are panicked and even more paranoid than before.

You were just thinking about surfing (as usual), weren't you?

So if you don't take a package tour you're going to get "hooked" on weed and throw your life away?

Actually it's a ridiculous statement (again). The article doesn't say anything about packages! Besides, going on a package means you won't get hooked on something? Again, Smith...if you don't have anything to say it's better not to post than to post nonsense.

Posted in: Japan welcomes China becoming world's No. 2 economy See in context

Again the wishful thinking factor prevails when posters expect Japan to drop to fourth or fifth place soon. China just became the the world's 2nd economy for what it's worth. The Chinese government CREATES an image of stable growth while in reality that growth is not stable at all and the central government has only limited influence on that. About 30% of the companies in China don't follow the rules issued by the central government in Beijing. On the other hand, despite the strong yen, export of Japanese products to China and Korea keeps growing. Apparently Japanese companies are still held in high esteem despite their higher prices. Japan's trade surplus shows this. In 2010 Japan exported for about 200 billion more than it imported compared to the year before. Plus, the higher costs of food will have a much greater impact in countries like China than in Japan. China will have to spend a lot of money to avoid social unrest. Unlike Japan.

who's more powerful militarily ?

Ehhmm, that could be Russia. But quite irrelevant to this topic. It would be a disaster for Russia if they'd use their military to make their point. So, I don't really understand why you bring up the "military" thing.

Jkanda - Exactly! Let's not end this discussion. Let's continue.

Smith, obviously it shows that you don't know anything about international politics. Although you're trying very hard to pretend you do. Giving up on those islands is exactly the thing Japan should NOT do. If they ever get them back or not is totally irrelevant.

The posters I'm talking about get offended when the news from your other source shows they are wrong. It's kind of an ego thing, you know.

Just that silly excuse about the Korean team being tired. Absolutely no excuse!! Then be better prepared!!!

Even without slow motion it was clear that this was NOT a penalty.

vg866. That PK didn't bring Japan next to Korea. In stead Japan took the lead.

The Korean veterans were tired, you say. Well, the Japanese veterans weren't! Yes, I'm happy with the Korea assisted victory.

Posted in: Japan beats South Korea to set up Asian Cup final clash with Australia See in context

But it wasnt because Japan was the "better" team. It was the luckier team.

Japan was lucky to get a penalty. All your other excuses about tiredness, injuries, veterans, youngsters, resting time...etc. are total BS. Korea lost because Japan WAS the better team. On the pitch, on the bench, by coaching and by preparing. Let's face it, vg866. How can a 22-year old pro football player be too tired to take a penalty?

Posted in: Japan beats South Korea to set up Asian Cup final clash with Australia See in context

vg866, during last year's world cup you said Cameroon and Denmark are below average. But at least they are ranked higher than your Korea! Maybe they don't get tired that easily?

I'd better comment on more important issues. The final. It's gonna be close. Australia just beat Uzbekistan 6-0. Japan just beat SK. Two boosts. Still I put my money on Australia.

Smith, I totally agree wit you on the penalty shoot-outs. But saying that Korea had the best chances goes a bit too far. Yes, they had SOME chances with headers but never that threatening as the chances Japan had. Actually I thought that it was KOREA instead of Japan doing a wicked job to put the ball into the box. But Japan defended well for a change. Although I almost got a heart attack every time the ball came close to Iwamasa. The penalties in regular time were a bit of a disgrace. The one for Korea was disputable. The one for Japan was absolutely NOT a penalty. Overall, Japan had the best of the field play and outclassed the Koreans on penalties. But Zac......why did you let Nagatomo take a penalty!!!???

I don't know why there's all that fuss about the broadcast. JT is not a program guide. It's not that hard to get that info from other sources, online or from your guide on your TV.

Smith, I agree with you partly about Honda. With any free kick close to the box he's there to lay claim on it. So far without success. But his field play is good. He has an eye for putting others in scoring positions or passing to them when he sees they are in a better position. He DOES play as a unit and hardly tries to go it alone.
