Posted in: 2-year-old girl dies after her neck gets stuck in car window See in context

This story is completely unbelievable. First how could she get her head out the window while being belted in a child's seat. Second why wouldn't the mother use the child control button on the driver's door? Why didn't she roll down or break the window?

If people design computer viruses, someone will design AI that replicates itself. This will be a new form of life that will outperform humans.

[I'd say that holding such opinions is a good reason for having a jury system]

The OJ Simpson case is exactly why the jury system didn't work!

Mr Kipling.

even with a step stool it would be extremely difficult for a 3 year old to pull themselves over a 135cm railing.

Posted in: 3-year-old girl falls to her death from balcony of high-rise apartment in Hiroshima See in context

I find it very hard to believe a 3 year old child could climb over a 135 cm high railing by herself even with a small step stool.

We have a friend that's a nurse. When she moved from Japan to Vancouver Canada. She was shocked to see when she worked overtime not only was she paid, but she got double time. From what I understood from her. When she was in Japan and had to work a couple hour's after her shift it was unpaid! Who would do that?
