This could be said about countless numbers of other businesses or corporations not only in Japan but throughout the world as well. This isn't a unique situation, and has been going on for as long as people have been working for someone else.
@Yubaru while your point is valid, it's a similar argument to the "black lives matter" vs "all lives matter" argument, for which I've heard a good analogy: we both value having a roof over our head, but if your house is burning down, yours needs more attention than your neighbors'. Similarly, the dumpster fire that is Asian work life needs more attention than that of their overseas neighbors, who don't have such brutal economies.
