Just got it, it's basically a mix between the Batman: Arkham series and Assassin's Creed. Incredibly fun, RPG elements, and I'm having a blast. I'd just say that you need a good PC to run this, as it's very graphics intensive.

lol @ burritos being healthy - tortilla, beans, rice, and you're already over 500-600 calories.

Posted in: Industry minister tries to convince public on need for nuclear energy See in context

Everyone here that touts solar energy thinks that it's the wave of the future - I do agree, but they need to be more efficient. Solar panels/power generation in its current state isn't scalable. It sounds good on paper, but the massive energy needs of Japan can't be solved by just solar/wind, but rather a combination of a multitude of alternative energy sources and traditional sources.

With 90% of the posters commenting about money/wealth, seems like they don't have either.

Money is as important, if not more important, than love. The number one reason for divorce is money issues. You need to have a healthy mix of both; stop being jealous and wish them happiness, it doesn't affect your life at all.

Posted in: Pop idols’ management demands Y8 million in damages after two members caught dating fans See in context

Look, I'm sure we all think suing the young women is wrong - but just remember - they signed a contract, no matter how unfair/demanding it is. It's also their primary job, and there are clear-cut rules. That's how the entertainment industry works, and if you don't like it you don't have to sign the contract or work there. However, because you signed a legally binding document that you hopefully read thoroughly, you're responsible for your own actions.

How would you feel as a manager if an employee took a client relationship beyond the workplace? That’s a huge liability, and when word gets out, the credibility of that group, your company, and the relationship are in jeopardy.

Agreed, world is going to turn upside down because of Abenomics. Please upvote me since I make conjectures without rhyme or reason, but take the side that's against Abe.

Posted in: Japanese firms hit by labor crunch See in context

It's ridiculous how companies pay ~1/2 to 1/4th of the wages you'd see in other developed countries. A grad from a top university making ~60k USD a year would be making the equivalent of 25-30k USD in Japan. Impossible to live on, especially in Tokyo.

Also, you'll be working well over normal hours, along with the traditional male-dominated society and xenophobia if yo're a foreigner.

Posted in: Equities investment boom spurs demand for bankers in Japan See in context

Unfortunately the discrepancy is very clear - junior/senior bilingual candidates will not move over/back to Japan since comp will always be higher in other areas (US, HK, etc) and lifestyle will be better. Think about it - US culture, shorter hours, higher pay, better lifestyle, and more equality for women, or Japanese culture, longer hours, no talking back, women are shunned, and lower pay ? The difference is clear.

The fact that foreigners are looked down upon also plays a role - don't really see this hiring shortage stopping anytime soon.

Posted in: Australian tycoon calls Chinese government 'mongrels' in TV tirade See in context

LOL - Palmer complaining about people mining iron ore when iron ore prospects are virtually nonexistent through 2015 and oversupply is rampant at this point. I wonder why he doesn't mention that.

Look everyone, it's public news that Australian miners aren't doing so well, and he's lucky CITIC is mining from that place at all. There are plenty of other iron ore producers that would shell out big time to have people mine/buy their inventory. China is undoubtedly Australia's biggest customer for iron ore, and it's no wonder why others in Australia are coming to China's defense.

Not taking sides, just pointing out the irony of his situation.

Followed him since he was just an extra - some of his post-credit scenes in movies show him doing his own stunts, injuring himself, etc. Even in American films like Rush Hour, he's still doing his own stunts, getting injured, etc.

Like him or hate him, he embodies someone who built himself up from nothing. Only fault I can think of is him associating w/ Jaden Smith, ugh.

You know there are plenty of grudges that are still held today by other countries...

And your comment about the civilized world wanting nothing to do with China is completely false - plain economics proves it, if nothing else.

Posted in: Japan's nuclear restart may be delayed until 2015 See in context

For those of you touting solar energy, the main reason why they're not going to become mainstream anytime soon is because even the cheapest solar installations are still well above even the highest cost curves of cheaper alternatives (coal, nat gas). The only way they become cost effective is for the government to subsidize them, but even then that's not a long-term solution.

We all think clean energy is great, but when the burden will likely fall on taxpayers, I'm sure we'll all think twice - that's the reality of the situation, money drives everything.

Misogyny needs to be eliminated - everyone can agree to this. But to have a set ratio of 50:50 male/female is absurd - meritocracy is a much better measure of ability than elevating someone just because they're a certain race/gender.

Love all these upvotes for everyone against Murdoch and the rich - I wonder what would happen if Walmart, Time Warner, Comcast, and all these other big companies disappeared. Everyone would be so much better with overpriced mom and pop shops and a dearth of standards of quality, no ?

All he's saying is that other countries have tax rates well below the US's, and that Obama is trying to trap companies that try to move to a lower-tax rate domicile. It makes companies harder to diversify and discourages entrepreneurship.

I think we all enjoy bashing those either more successful or who hold more power than us - but until we actually experience what they go through and the decisions they have to make, it's really not right for us to make outlandish assumptions on topics we know nothing about.

Posted in: We ask Arashi fans why the boy band is so popular See in context

Their appeal comes from not just music - it's largely because they've been around so long and a lot of people grew up with them as idols, and thus will introduce their children to them as well. The music industry in Japan is based off loyalty, and music is a small portion - their variety shows, endorsements, etc. complement their dome tours and CD sales.

We can all agree that their music isn't top notch and they lip-synch a lot - but Arashi's image is good and they've outlasted every other boy band besides SMAP, so it's no wonder they have so many fans.
