What ever the pic is posed or not, every similar picture on the net, showing girls from any country in a similar position are staged as well, as there is a cameraman in front pushing the peeps to do something for the shoot . . . . Its a picture of a pool with girls having fun,and I bet they had fun . . staged or not staged . .
What I am asking myself is if the JT-autors use this images blantly to ignit the discussion , as JT also know by now that 90% of their posters here, will jump like starving lions on such content pictures , in order to find what ever evil of japanese society in it . . .
Not professional at all, more I look at JT, more I think it's a single gaijin sitting in a small appart. hosting and updating this site as a hobby. No 1% of real professionalisme here , comparing to the real japanese press . . .
I am out.

The Paris show is maybe one of the best expos of animation, comic-manga an related stuff in the world . . . Otakus all the way, hot chicks, cool shows, ex . . . .
If someone here wants to compare the event with the Akiba-kun like j-otakus (the fat, ugly, bad dressed, pervert, megane-boy), doesn't get the picture!!
Happy theses events exist and let people in france show their creativity and interests free.

It's a very weak and bad article!
Otaku, Anime and what ever is not just some groupe of peeps having asocial problems and are interested in the same virtual world, because they can't cope with the reality!!!
The writer of the article is a person who thinks standing in the real world and therefore having the free ticket to bash on something he/she barly understands.
Very soon there is the worlds biggest Cosplay show in japan, many foreigners are coming from around the world . . .all are Otakus in their way, but after all they are from any and every class of the society, there are as many different cosplayers, manga, video game, Movie-lovers as there are different fishes in the sea! And by all means thoses who have worked in the entertainment industry, know, that creativity comes from theOtaku-community , as much in Japan as in the US. I remember in the 80. every movie Otaku around the world having a copy of "Brain Dead"and let young peeps shot thausends of similar horror movies with paps Video cam back then, didn't make them killers either.
The hentai community (especially the child sex lovers) is an other issue, it's just coincidence that japan has a big affiliation to drawn images (Manga , Anime) (wich gives fantasies no limits of expression) and that sadly many Mangas and Animes in the hentai genre, promote pedophile content.
One last thing: Saying cases like this are good for the death sentence advert is complete stupid. The guy didn't tortured, behead, mutilated, dismembred, eaten up his victimes, . . . he went berserk! He was not born like this and we all know by now what are the issues to let a young man to take theses radical actions. If somebody has the right to kill him, then the family members! . . . its a sad story for the victimes, the killer and the society . . . and it's not misses or mister super writer that will make a point analysis on this matter . The article is childish and ignorant.

Pilak agree fully with your reasoning.
I just tend to comment more radically on theses events, as in my country, thoses issues are adressed and mostly society is blamed for thoses things to happen. Thats when peoples start to think and start to discuss theses issues, that any change can be triggered after.
Of course in japan, there is no open discussion that would deply involve critics about the way j-people live.
And I also think more they show this stuff on j-TV, more j-peeps will turn away of adressing the issue, as it looks TV and BigBros have the entire situation under control and I not need to use more braincells on the issue.

Konami is just interested in to cash and obviously they should have taken their finger out of the game. It's not that even 1000Konami ego stabbing-shooting games would pose a problem, the japanese DVD, Anime, Manga and older games have enough evil inside to ruin the world . .so what the hell Konami.
Anyway, Kato is a poor bastard and he payed back to every body what he thinks has been done wrong to him. What completely surpasses his own intentions are the chainreactions of power demonstrations by the political and economical authorities in japan now! By sending a message that the japanese society has some very bad rotten parts, Kato contribuated to actually blur that awefull situation a bit more . . .
They should let a TV-Team interview Kato and let him cry out every thing , then let the public have a transpearant view of what is wrong with Kato and the society he/we live in!!!

Yup and in addition to the blues in the satanic work enviroment , there is (if they even have a day off) time they spend on the day off in liberty. In todays japan, also the last prehistoric male aknowledges that someone has more pride enjoying his free time, then walking like robot inblack suits around 24houres.
The salaryman of 1978 only knew his fake pride of work enviroment and saw his ego in that strict and unforgiving world. Today the salary man asks him self, why he can't go with his family to Disneyland, can't have time to travel where he wants, can't enjoy his what so ever hobby (other then sleeping, drinking, smoking and soaplands), and most of all can't devellop another self estime and individuality, then the sigular one , his idiotic boss imposes him, without exit . . . . modern slaves, given the right to choose . .very soon it will also happen in japan!

Good discussion here. I absolutly agree with the statements of japanese society illness, regarding family hiearchy structures, that are still 300years behind the west, resulting into male dominance, fake prides and values, wrong life priorities and useless pride, which even prevents fathers to show love to their own children and wifes . . .
But I doupt that Japan will have a deep crisis either. First of all if you really look at the level of owercrowded cities in japan and the millions of peoples interacting every day . . it is a miracle that not every 10 dude starts stabbing somebody (also consider the high level of internet-mobile messaging, wich enables dark thoughts to spread more quick and effective in japan, then for exemple in France).
I think that Japanese youth will completely resolve with the old generation of robots and j-pride culture in th enext 10 years. Japan was never submerged with such an amount of foreign influence that goes right into the families living rooms. If the government opens the door for more foreign buisnesses, makes new status and rights for foreigners lives in japan. The young j-peeps will turn to that new flag and leave the stress and misery (the island with no exit for new thoughts).
As a gaijin living in japan and endured the same painfull experiences as many j-workers . I turned my self again back to my homeland and are now doing buisness with the best japan has to offre and the best my homeland has to offre. I try and I am inspiring japanese friends, who went from the sceptic j-man against gaijins, to the open minded japanese bloke who takes the best of two worlds.
Keep faith japanese youth, I believe in you, change for the better!

I wouldn't go too far either.
The attacked Gaijin , the J-Police victimes, forget sometimes how it is back home as well. I remember the gaijin wanting a coke from the drink machine at night. The machine eats his 1000Yen and no drink comes out. First thing you do back in europe at night in this situation is hit the carp out of the bloody machine, that's what he did! One minute after the J-Cops from the local Koban turn up and arrest him in the same manner as the they arrest terrorists in Iraq. Accusing the gaijin to rob the machine . . .lol Now we can bash the Koban monks for that, but what would any french, german or luxembourgish cop do if he gets called by locals that some polish, yugoslavian, turqish or algerian guy tries to rob the drink machine at night??? Certainly not kiss him, if the guy doesn't speak a bit of the local language.
Crimes happen every where and in such crowded cities as japan it wonders me that the J-Police hasn't turned into the same sort of dudes you find in the mexican or columbian police . . .! So I think they are doing the crap job , they are doing it bad, but japan and the gainjin minorities won't die because of it. Bad luck is maybe the thing you don't need with the J-Cops!

Can this be taken as a hint??? I mean then the J-police would have to arrest 80% of the male population over here . . .lol

What is funny is the fact that he actually tryed to harm sexually somebody!! If he was drunk or not doesn't count. So as 56years old japanese male, sporttrainer with a certain reputation, he is qualified to be a primus J-man!
To put it short: He treats his wife like crap, likes young girls, is a fat , stinking alcoholic who comes home late at night and rapes his wife. (Second person to consider here is his wife). hope he gets live sentance and raped by some gay inmates and guards daily!

J-police:
1) No cultural and historic background, other to be a useless club for numpties and war veterans, stitched together by Mc.Arthur in 5 minutes back in the good old days.
2) Therefore in good tradition to the japanese hierarchy , with the asocial bunch (from point one) as tradition setters.
3) Tipical japanese wrong and useless male prides, affecting mostly reatards and megalomans. The kind of peeps, who think actually the society should raise their children and women in general are on the same level as animals.
4) Promoting multiculture and interests in other languages and countries is the last thing that will happen within the J-Police.
5) Yakuza clans are controling the Kobans, the mayor elections, the city police stations. Sometimes maybe only for 10%, but mostly over 40% for sure.
6) There are useless peoples all over the world, the EU has plenty of them, plenty in the Eu-police as well . . but as europe has a tradition to fight for the peoples rights, scum in the police society doesn't really survive that long and has a hard time to performe the asocial behaviors , the J-Police seems to be performing with out borders . . .
