sadly I predict at least 1 more "fukushima" scale disaster will be required for anything to change in the JP nuke industry.

gyouza, uzneko

yes, cleanup is needed, but send garbage across the country is not the way, do it locally - support the local community

Posted in: Tsunami debris from Miyagi arrives in Tokyo for disposal See in context

someone is getting paid to move / separate / burn the garbage unnecessarily, EVERYONE knows this, WHY is this being allowed ? (it's Japan, that's why)

total waste of money, money that we don't have, why not raise taxes and waste more and more, this country never ceases to amaze me...

Posted in: Jetstar Japan to start domestic flights in July See in context

I've been flying jetstar Narita to the Gold Coast about 2 or 3 times a year for the past 6 or so years (when ever they started that route) saved thousands of dollars and maybe been delayed 30mins max. (once or twice maybe).

example, I have a flight in June cost me about $500 return, try that on another airline...

In Australia I often fly jetstar Gold Coast to Sydney for about $90 one way, However, this being Japan and JAL with their fingers in the pie, I would be very surprised if they can do Narita to Okinawa for a similar price.

release the prices already jetstar!

with the amount of power co. money loss involved I find it very hard to imagine power companies will not get their wishes (aka bribes) granted.

I still predict it will take at least one more Fukishima scale fubar for things to change in Japan.

well, I know a lot of people in Kanagawa that are feeling the pinch directly due to the accident at Fukushima (aka the power company greed)

moving factory etc to China : maybe this is due to the fact they can make a lot more money paying kids to work in China?

sent from my iphone (thanks kids of China)

imagine SB executives had to take a pay cut for their shoddy network, pretty soon they would be paying to work :)

I just spent a few days in Hakuba, up there SB network is shocking, but not as bad as Shonan !

Edano, save us the time and tears, just pass a bill to give tepco 1 trillion yen a month (1/2 for their bonuses), and the 1st born child of every family in Japan for the next 40 years (for "research" - whaling style)

these guys offer the best exchange rates, and transfer fee is not that much either.

I used HIS a few times, but as I now mostly go to / from Australia I just buy tickets off the Jetstar website, wish more airlines were online like this.

Posted in: Try finding a job at 60 See in context

if a company hires over 60 year old FT, the gov will pay (one time payment) about 950,000 yen to the company, it's about half that for PT up to 20hrs / week.

a few over 60 year old Japanese are working at my company, they have way more skills than 20 - 30 year old , I'd hire more over 60's any day!

Posted in: 30 arrested for illegally sharing manga, music, movies, TV shows online See in context

according to some association of "copyright BS blah blah blah" press release, all those arrested were Japanese, and most of those caught were using "share" which is mostly Japanese content. so I assume they only targeted Japanese content "uploaders" - for now.

the other day I noticed Sydney (Australia) bus seat fabric is a graffiti pattern...

(it's not graffiti on the seats - it's actually a pattern in the fabric that's made of graffiti or tags like the crap graffiti you see in Japan occasionally - not the "beautiful" murals you might see in NY)

does anyone know if this was a response to criminals doing graffiti on these buses ?
