He should be consistent on his policy during the visit. Let's hope he will not make any mistake or any gaffes.

Posted in: Gov't wants to replace entire TEPCO board See in context

I agree with the idea that the government will push TEPCO to replace the whole of board members to boost the recovery plan. Because you can not see any progress in terms of restructuring process that allows TEPCO to change to change. Looking at the process over last one year after the quake, in fact, nothing else was executed. In addition, only thing executed by TEPCO is the rising price. Without any commitment toward to nations by management team from TEPCO to recovery from this situation, nobody can help TEPCO. Consequently it'll be difficult for Japan to control the nuclear power plant at Fukushima.

Posted in: Areas near nuclear plant may be unlivable forever, gov't says See in context

I'm wondering if most of Japanese are aware of this situation happening as the people outside Fukushima is getting unfocused on this issue. It's much more serious situation rather than we expected when the incident in the nuclear power plan happened last year. Nevertheless, the government didn't make any new release for TV programs. They should take actions to inform nations of real situations.

Posted in: ANA to increase international services See in context

Basically I agree with ANA's strategy that they would increase the capacity of the international route since the demand of flight should increase. A lot of person are expected to fly to oversea due to the support of strong yen in terms of biz and privates.

Posted in: 10 governors demand TEPCO explain corporate power bill hike See in context

It's no choice. it's unavoidable for Japan to face rising the cost of electricity because the real cost of nuclear power including risk for big disasters had been unaware for long time. Even though TEPCOS's behavior in announcing the cost increasing is not good, Japan should reconsider which sources for power are reasonable from cost and risk point views.

Posted in: U.S. safety regulators investigate Toyota cars over door fires See in context

No matter how serious it is, I have got to feel it's intensional politic activity of US. To make the issue clear, I believe that Toyota can commit to support for full-investigation in US. In particular, since Toyota had recall issues a few years ago, Toyota should admit the issue if it comes from Toyota's mistake.

Posted in: Moody's lowers rating on Sony, Panasonic See in context

It's somehow true that both companies are getting less competitive in the TV market compared to several years ago because of tough competition agains Korean rivals. Even though the ratings by rating companies are sometime less reliable, we should realize that TV industry is not good market for Japanese key components supplier for TV market including TV set, LCD panel...etc... mainly because of strong yen and advanced marketing strategy of Korean rivals.

Posted in: Noda replaces 5 ministers in cabinet reshuffle See in context

Important bills like consumer tax and social insurance should not be linked with scandals from politicians. When scandals happen, bills should be pending which lead to slowing of Japanese economy. To be independent, the government should launch the independent and specific section dedicated to build strategies and execute each programs.

Posted in: Japan considering alternative oil supplies as Iran sanctions loom See in context

Japan has always back up solutions for natural resources like oil, coal..etc since we're poor country in terms of natural resources. Good learning from the quake on Mar 11' 11. At that time, the industries faced a lack of materials coming from Japan which lead to short supply for a while. After the quake, several industries have been seeking for alternatives to be on safe side. why not the government take such actions?

Posted in: S Korean president urges Japan to compensate Korean wartime sex slaves See in context

Even though it's true that Japanese government had a sex slaves in the past, S.Korean leader uses this topics to promote the nationality and get the nations attention to him. It's because his approval rate is getting lower these days. There is no point to try talking for this short time in this visit. Hopefully we will have to set up the official discussion bet two countries to finalize the talk. Bet two countries, we spent a lot of time over almost 70yrs and it's not fair that S.Korean leader and other countries use this sensitive topics as a means to raise their approval rate for short term !!!

Posted in: Noda's declaration on Fukushima met with cynicism See in context

We should investigate this announcement to confirm the real situation of new clear reactors which remains not completely fixed. To do this, the government needs to outline all data which covers not only radiation level but also robustness on equipments installed outside reactors, e.g. how long equipments can be used... for example.

Posted in: Japan extends tax breaks on low-polluting vehicles See in context

It's good idea to underpin Japanese car makers by extending the tax break. The tax break will definitely help them grow the revenue for time being. However, we have to realize that car makers are about to leave Japan in terms of manufacturing sight, meaning car makers pay their tax to other countries. Japanese government should set rise company tax as well to secure the tax revenue coming from this tax break. It's also as critical as tax break from budget point views.

Posted in: Russian FM talks tough to Maehara on dispute with Japan See in context

In the past, there were several under-ground activities to maintain the relationship btw Russia and Japan before DPJ taking power in 2009. These days, DPJ is just demanding, which is just way communication to other countries like China and Russia. This is one of flip side that DPJ haven't progress anything even DPJ is showing strong attitude to other countries..
