Lost in Nagoya, only if the world was so simple and only the one who first thought of a certain product would be able to profit from it. Where is the limit? Where is the line in the sand? Japan was famous for copying and developing better versions of existing products before inventing its own. China and Korea now are in the stage where they are actually making products more innovative than the ones they copied, Samsung, HTC, LG just to mention some. I am a heavy Apple consumer even lining up in Sakae a couple of times to buy new products but now I rather use my android devise and I long for the changes to come so that apple will catch up with Samsung. BTW nice link! Gradiente might just be a firm to watch. That is exactly how a lot of big companies started out, I know gradiente is been there for the longest time but they need balls to step into the smart phone market now. Shameful, I know, but so is the market!

Laguna, the "shaken" approach to keeping the registrations up to date is definitely necessary to keep files updated and as you mentioned if it is too much of a burden to keep renewing the license it means it is time to turn it in or resale to another certified party, just like old cars in Japan. That is why we don't see a tone of old piled up in peoples back yards. So thumbs up for you!!! I have heard that in Japan, whenever there is a shooting incident the rare people who do have permits have to take the weapons to be analysed by the police and that is the main reason why although it is possible to buy a gun, most people would choose not to.

Laguna, great point!!! I think it should go a little further and also check all the paper work of the store that sold the gun. A very thorough check up!!! I also think that the owner of the gun, the one who purchased it, should bear the same responsibility as the one who pulled the trigger, meaning that in the case of the latest school shooting the mother should be criminally prosecuted by the state. Since she is deceased her estate should be sold and put towards her sons victims families recovery. I know it is very severe but anyone who buys a gun should know that gun is his responsibility, forever.

I wonder how the Japanese automakers fare against these new trend of using tablet technology, IOS or Android, that we see in most new higher end cars in the US. I hope we can keep up!!!

I wonder if in their minds this is just like bullying. Their penalties will not be any harsher than that of a case of IJIME. Would it be too much of a stretch to hope they get jail time?? It might be good for their future development.

Hawkeye A big thumbs up for you!!! There is just one problem. That does not seem to work here, or the island ordeal with China would have been solved by now. The whale and dolphin hunt is the most shameful part of this society and it is really sad that only very few people are for the hunts but every one else iseems to be just indiferent! No matter how opposed the rest of the society is, if the only people speaking are the hunters, that is the only voice that will be heard. Hopefuly this event will help change that perspective of the Japanese culture. Unless the only people to show up are gaijins....

I am happy to update! Sure I don't like the new maps and the podcast won't play on my car stereo but weighing the good and the bad. Still happy to update! One thing I am usually anoyed about is the app updates that show up on your home screen avery other hour... You update a handfull of apps and two hours later there is one more app to update... Maybe apple should think of a better way to have them updated or maybe there is an app for that too!!!! LOL

There we go again. Apple users bashing android and android users saying that apple is so 2011!!! But there is one aspect that is still not touched here in most articles or comments: it is the resale value. This is what has made me keep on buying iphones for the last 3 generations of iphones. Since I expect to only use phone for one year it is good to know the cost of buying, keeping and selling the old one. I can't sell anything, that is something I am really bad at, but people will just ask you "what did you do with that old Ipad, do you wanna sell?" I think the price for the used item says more about the product than anything else, same goes for cars and houses... Just my humble opinion...

"You’re trying to buy your way into the hearts and markets of America." Isn't it how it always work??? Sure it works as a propaganda for him but it works as a propaganda for donations and or philanthropic work in general. Shouldn't we be in inspired by acts of selflessness even if the act it self would have the benefit of the free propaganda? Every time I donate money or rations or clothing or help out someone in need I always feel so worm inside that I think I am the one profiting the most! Is it ever 100 percent selfless???

"The three men arrested this week were also involved in running the club, police said.

Nobody has been arrested over the fatal beating."

After arresting the management for letting people dance, the arrests are still targeting people unrelated to the real crime. I guess ARREST and BASEBALL BAT MURDER in the same sentence makes for good headlines for newspapers in Tokyo. One might think 'Hey they are on to something now!!!'
