One can only hope this sick bastard gets all the LOVE he wished for in PRISON!!! How long would one go to prison to pay for that kind of suffering??? 5, 10 lifetimes? I am not for "an eye for an eye" but some times the crime is just so heinous that gets you wondering...By this short article you can imagine the torture went on for a very long time. Would this guy end up having the same sentence as a couple using a dog leash for pleasure that went awfully wrong???

Talk about a waste of good Jcop time!!! People should steal more bikes to keep them cops working!!! LOL And you cheap scambags: ALL that is not yours is NOT YOURS. Don't take it home. If you wanted the mementos go down to the lobby and buy one!!! It is cheaper than the lawyer you will pay for when you are caught!!!

Posted in: Australia hits out at Japan at whale tracking tech launch See in context

I really don't understand why Japan tries so hard to have a good image and hunt whales and dolphins at the same time. Japan has donated money and human resources when there are natural disasters, even interviewing foreigners in Japan to have a better perspective of its own image. Now Japan really needs that good image to settle this Island issue. But guess what every time people see a Japanese ship they will immediately think of whale hunting ships. whenever I travel and mention that I live in Japan, the conversation veers to whales and dolphins. Most people don't know that dolphin hunt is confined to Wakayama and they don't know that there is no whale meat in every single home in the country. As long as public opinion is not relevant to the country or they can buy the needed public opinion (UN) I don't think there will be a significant change in whale hunting. But don't expect everybody to look at the disputed Island and be sympathetic towards Japan. For us, Japan is a very benevolent UN member. For most people around the world Japan means Toyota Sony and whale hunt!!!!

I don't think the crime rate is that impressive, the difference is that this article would not make to the national news. Might make to the local news and most likely the suspect would be sent home with a cop saying "cut down on the sake".

Posted in: Man arrested for murdering father, kidnapping 7-year-old girl See in context

What is the correlation, if any, between the two crimes??? Did he kidnap the girl and got in a fight with the father? Any chance the father kidnapped the girl and the son tried to rescue??? So many questions and so few follow ups to stories like this!!!

Posted in: Brazil says don't expect World Cup perfection See in context

As a Brazilian, I am quite hopeful the world cup and the Olympics will give Brazil the boost it needs to get a better role in an globalized world stage. Brazil is by all means a powerhouse now but certainly has not peaked its potential. Sydney was a party frenzy, Beijing was a harmonious match of millennial culture with next generation technology and the London Olympics has been a humbling honor to one of the richest and most varied cultures in the modern age. Please Brazil dont let us down, dont be all about soccer, carnival and bosanova. I sure love those but I also love the rest of the nation. Please try and show how diverse and harmonious our own culture has grown to be, with communities from all over the world that settle in Brazil decades or even centuries ago. Show us the unique Brazilian party spirit that has blessed all of us who grew up there. I do think that these huge events will be marred with problems and last minutes patches but their success shall be an milestone to a modern and prosperous country showcasing parts of Brazil that make us proud but never get to the headlines of international papers for not having anything to do with soccer, samba or violence in the favelas.

ps did I mention not to focus too much on soccer and carnival? LOL

Shouldn´t someone be measuring QUALITY of life instead?

I don´t want to seem unfeeling about the Our Country is Number One title but I do think that a fulfilling, happy and well enjoyed life is way more important. If it came to: no more red meat and you might add 3 more years... I would say F. that. Sure I choose to eat healthy whenever possible, but I am glad to have more options when choosing a restaurant. Sure most people will ¨demonize¨ american eating habits but isn´t it great that we do have that choice to make?

Resident. That would be great!!! Maybe I could go back to using docomo. I DO think more we are in need of some heathy rivalry in our domestic market. Japan used to be a leader in Internet speed. One of the first countries to have Fiberglas as standard but now we are so behind in speed it is not even funny. Seoul, hong kong, with other countries have working 4G but here???

Ok docomo is finally trying to catch up with the smart phone frenzy. Just a bit too late... And the hole xi idea is great, I would love to get faster internet on my phone but one can only use up to 5 gigabytes of transmition that is ridiculous!!! What is the point of a fast net with a limited volume???
