"I would love to visit China however..."

Once conditions improve with the pandemic, it would be an excellent idea to visit China. In the meantime, taking a look at videos from English speakers living in China can be very helpful.

For example, Jason Lightfoot, a British vlogger, has a good, very popular, YouTube channel called Living in China.

As for the media in China, is it not a wonderful thing that a handful of extremely rich reactionary individuals cannot control the media to brainwash the public?

Posted in: Chinese people vexed by Communist Party's image among Japanese See in context

The news media of Japan lied to the nation about the Pacific war. The defeat came as a terrible shock. This same Japanese news media is lying again today about China and promoting a revival of the militarism that brought disaster in 1945.

If Japanese people only read and watch anti-China news, naturally they will have a bad impression of China.

This article is itself an example. It repeats all the false criticisms of China while pretending to wonder why anyone would have a bad impression of China.

There is now a wealth of online information about China in English that tells the truth. YouTube has many good channels that tell the truth about China's economic successes and the power of socialist planning. However there is big a lack of truthful online Japanese language sources about China.

The Asian diplomat interviewed in this article is correct. Japanese journalists are simply not allowed to report about China in a positive way.

Big congratulations to the Communist Party of China on its centennial.

What is missing from this AFP article?

Xi declared the completion of a moderately prosperous society and a historic resolution of the problem of poverty. A quick glance at the headlines of the Global Times site tells you that.

Socialism works and young people in China are proud of their accomplishments.

Compare the many alienated youth in Japan exploited by temp labor outfits.

Posted in: Biden urges G7 leaders to call out and compete with China See in context

The CCP led a victorious revolution not so long ago in 1949. Interest in China's revolutionary history has increased in recent years in China.

It is ironic that the western anti-communist right wingers pretend to be revolutionaries, when in fact they are reactionaries. Trump's fascist followers play this same game all the time.

For those who are making ridiculous predictions of a coup in China, they should admit that a failed coup attempt just occurred in the US in January.

Posted in: Rare earth metals at the heart of China's rivalry with U.S., Europe See in context

The issue of access to rare earth minerals in China is only a concern for the US and Europe if they are planning WWIII with China to achieve US global hegemony.

Achieving disruption-free supplies would give the US a free hand to attack China.

How did the last world war work out in Japan?

Posted in: G7 leaders agree on vaccines, China and taxing corporations See in context

Despite the headline of this article, everyone knows that the G7 did NOT agree on China. Biden failed to get his hard line on Xinjiang passed. Not everyone is impressed with US NED-funded propaganda.

"“This G7 summit will live on in infamy," said Max Lawson"

Lawson is correct.

Posted in: Taiwan thanks Japanese lawmakers for supporting bid to join WHO assembly See in context

The right-wing DPP party has botched the coronavirus response. Is that the experience they are so desperate to share with the WHO?

The DPP has refused to allow WHO approved vaccines from mainland China to be used in Taiwan. Tens of thousands of Taiwanese have gone to the mainland anyway to get vaccinated.

The DPP does not speak for all the people of Taiwan. Nor do the old warmongers speak for the world.

The Olympics are not the reason for the slow vaccine rollout in Japan.

Both Australia and South Korea are also going slowly, and they are not hosting the Olympics.

This is a good article.

Japanese young people are not alone in their interest in Marx and socialism. This is happening all over the world, including in both the United States and China.

Posted in: China says U.S.-Japan actions are stoking division See in context

Media coverage of the Suga and Biden meeting is completely different in Japan and the United States. In Japan it is top news. In the United States it is not in the headlines. Some news networks did not cover it at all.

Why is this? It was Biden's first big international meeting!

Many Biden supporters would not be happy to realize he is pursuing an aggressive and divisive policy towards China that is similar to the policy of Trump.

Posted in: China says U.S.-Japan actions are stoking division See in context

China is correct to object to the divisive statements of Biden and Suga.

It is ironic that Biden, who ran on a platform of unity, is promoting division in Asia.

It is hypocritical of Biden to pretend to care about human rights but ignore the pressing issue of human rights in Myanmar, the number one human rights issue in Asia today.

There is no threat to Japan concerning Taiwan.

The real threat to the Japanese people is a revival of militarism encouraged by the United States.
