Many foreigners feel difficult to work at Japanese companies. They cannot accustom to company cultures of Japan. They say it is like a military. So is true to some Japanese. It is not their fault. They are not fit to Japanese companies. Try their life again somewhere in foreign lands.

Ideal politician is one who enrich the country and make people's life easy. In that context, Abe is not a bad politician. Politicians should not be judged for his morality only.

Free trade and globalism has a lot of problems and it is true that many lost jobs and companies went bancrupt as a result. But was it not promoted by U.S.? There are many American companies profiting from it and consumers as well. By the way, cars are tariff free item in Japan. Since globalism began GNP of the third world increased greatly.

Abe's constant attacks on Asahi Shinbun lead to Asahi's revenge....exposure. Other papers also knew about it but did not report.

When we look back the past, Japan repeated big earthquakes and tsunami periodically historically at most of the country. My ancestors lived in the Noto peninsula in Ishikawa prefecture but after a big earthquake and tsunami hit the area during the Edo period, they moved to a new place further in the north in Akita deserting the place they used to live. They did not think restore the place and live there again. It is too costly to rebuild and they may have the same disaster again.

One reason many Japanese do not acquire spoken English is English words are daily used in our life as Japanese words namely as "gairaigo." Japanese is a very flexible language and is mixed with many foreign born words. But they are written in katakana and abbreviated and pronounced differently which are incomprehensible to native English speakers. Most Japanese are not inconvenienced unable to speak English in daily life except an odd ball like me who is killing time communicating with foreigners and enjoy watching English TV.

I hear English teachers are often chosen from among white Americans and Nisei or Sansei Japanese-Americans are discriminated.

I agree English is taught at elementary schools but I am against testing hearing comprehension ability of English in examinations for colleges. It is not a test of intelligence but of habit and experiences.

Compared with corruptions of leaders of other countries, his misdeed is minor. He did many good things to the country. We cannot remove Abe and return Japan to the days of confusions before him.

Are the parts of military aircrafts so easily dislodged? Maybe because helicopters are always vibrating hard. I was in a helicopter long time ago but it was not comfortable at all. Heavy noises and vibrations.

When and where an idealistic country existed in the history of the world as people here want?

Removing Abe will give big damages and confusions to Japan politically as well as economically. Do not give a rise to left wing politicians.

I want to move to Okinawa. I think it is a nice place to live. People are nice. They help each other. Despite the small size of the island, they have good infrastructures. Life in mainland Japan is not easy. People are having hard life to survive. They live in small houses and cannot have more children due to lack of facilities. We are not happy at all. People are selfish and good old custom of family affinity are lost. Bases may be a problem but in return they get strong support from the government. I think many Okinawans agree with me.

Onaga is toning down. His strong anti-base propaganda might have been only to win the election. He is now saying they want money.

If the Japanese government seriously thinks we have to change the working system, Japan has to change this old fashioned hiring system first. This is a ceremony. Companies already have hopeful candidates before they hold exams and interviews. They have strong relationship with professors of famous colleges. There, students do not have to running around hunting jobs. Professors introduce jobs to students when they become senior students and they are promised jobs at the companies the professors recommend. This trend is clear at big national universities. This is ridiculous happening at national colleges to which huge tax money is used.

Japanese college student years are three not four. They do not have time to study when they become a senior busy hunting jobs. What can they learn in three years when a sophomore and a junior are repeating subjects they learned at senior highs?

Takagi's race reminded me of Japan's Keirin bicycle race in which the similar strategy is often seen - a small racer hide behind big ones during the race to avoid winds and to save his stamina and in the last corner storms an open course if there is.

People have and need luxuries in life and smoking is one of them. Others are alcohols, tea, coffee, etc. If they are all banned from health reasons, what our life will be? Health and values of life are two different things. It is a choice of people. Doctors care about health but life philosophy is decided by individuals.

Misawa keeps very friendly relationship with U.S. Air base there. I do not think this accident will stir any anti-base sentiment among the citizens. The city has a motto "Live and let live" in relation to the base. The city has a population of 40,000 and at the base 1,300 Japanese employees work and 8,000 U.S. personnels stationed. I have never heard any political anti base activities there. Until U.S. base moved there, it was a small fishing village. Misawa is also known as the first place trans-pacific flight was made in 1931 by Clyde pangborn to Washington State. Both the city and the base are making efforts for their good relationship holding Japan Day in April and American Day in June.

I don't like Kyoto. Too many temples there and they charge visitors. People in other parts of Japan do not visit temples except when some of your family die. I visited Kyoto before and dropped in a restaurant near a temple. I found Buddhist priests among customers. I do not eat together with priests in religious attires. Too many priests in the city. I do not want to see priests except at funerals.

Unfortunately, Oosuna-arashi will not be able to remain in Sumo. Violation of Traffic Law is punished very severely in Japan. The Sumo Association cannot ignore public reactions. He was popular among children. He is a muscle man attracting kids. For him who has to leave Sumo, 500,000 yen is not a small money. A Juryo rank sumo wrestler gets about one million yen a month. It is a big money for an Egyptian. His hair is receding but he is a young man of 25 years old. He said before he wanted to climb to higher rankings to send more money to his family in Egypt. Sumo association is facing a serious problem involving foreign wrestlers. I feel they do not understand the essence of sumo well. They take sumo the same as pro wrestling and their plays tend to be rough. Osuna-arashi's elbows and Hakuho's slappings are criticized as rough plays.

Economy is doing very well in America and they are increasing interest rate to hold down inflation to happen there. Money is supposed to move to higher interest currency of America and Japanese yen with zero interest rate to be sold. What is happening is the other way around. Yen is rising. America is controling the currency market of the world and using it as a tool to hold down export of other countries.
