Nowhere does the author refer to the wishes of the people of Taiwan, merely saying that Taiwan needs to "return the favor". He means Taiwan should be put to the sword to serve a misguided "greater good". Sounds rather like offering your daughter to placate an invading army and would be an equally despicable act. A shockingly shortsighted opinion piece.
