There will always be a demand for an, eigo sensei itsumo..

You think so? But now they came up with Rosetta Stone English, etc. Even the ringo obachan in Aomori could speak Portuguese...lol.

Princess Kiko, I believe, is either a Harvard or Yale grad, and grew up mostly in the US and EU. Boy, talk about culture-shock, no wonder she is often ill.

apple407. I think you meant Princess Masako?

Of course there's nothing wrong about going to love hotels for men who're just after sex in a women. But a man who truly love her woman would be prepared to spend a bit more money to take her to a more noble and decent hotel property.

I have never liked Princess Kiko's fake smile and I always will.

I was about to say the same..:) But I guess she's also a smart woman. She planned her life well. Started off by being in the same school as the Prince and sharing the same hobby to get hitched, got married to him and even be oblivious to some rumours about him, bore him a male heir to the throne. Well, she did it all, doesn't she. All with a smile and soft-spoken and gentle personality she trained herself to be...:)

…can’t decide anything on their own (32%). Seriously, “there are very few women who depend on a guy that much.”

…want to quit their jobs after getting married (27%). Duh: “Women have dreams just like men; that idea is dead.” …are always neat and clean (24%). Actually, “I’m a pretty messy person, so it’s always awkward when people assume I’m a neat freak.”

Men are so naive...LOL.

I'm only interested in eating good food and have a good life. I work my ass off every day to enjoy a comfortable life. Japanese goods and made in Japan goods are the best and I don't mind paying for them.

Posted in: Things Japanese girls do that make guys go, 'Huh?' See in context

My wife is funny, very witty, a little kooky, worldly (she had lived in a couple of countries when I met her and has travelled through many others), has impeccable manners and a sense of social propriety when needed, is dedicated and hard working, kind to others and is from a great family. She is open minded and adventurous. She is, I guess, quite atypical and I am a lucky guy, but there are plenty of interesting women in Japan, you just have to find them.

Tamarama: There's nothing special about your wife. Sorry to say that. J women are well known for knowing how to keep their men. It's all a big bowl of dramas.

Most Japanese women are concerned about their own image and what others perceived them to be and they have very little substance. There is alot of phony Japanese women with same teasing games playing with two faces. Most Japanese women lack maturity and character. They act like bunch of little kids going on thirty and forty. No wonder half the women between 30 to 40 have never been married, but keeps playing the same game. They will eventually become single obachan.

LOL. the best joke on the link! So agree! My colleagues are like that!

They go to the bathroom in groups.

LOL. I still find it funny to see women go to the loo in groups...also after work they waited for each other to go down the lift as well!

I hope Norika doesn't talk like an oba-san. I found it very common here in Japan. Good looking J women but no finesse....once they passed 30 they started talking like obaaaaaa.....

Posted in: What makes Japanese women say, 'I never want to see that jerk again!' See in context

Dating Japanese women is usually like dating a robot. No personality, no conversation.. dull.

LOL. I just heard the same phrase from a male friend today...!

my wife—who combines grace, thoughtfulness, gentleness and pure steel in a way I have never encountered in the West—is the best thing that ever happened to an idiot like me.

LOL. And it's all a J woman's pure made up personality.

A relationship is about compromise. No men is perfect. If I have to to complain like those J women I'll end up being left on the shelf...lol.

Posted in: What's the best way to deal with screaming or badly-behaved children at airports and on planes so that they don't drive other passengers crazy? See in context

Give those children a sharp stare or worse scenario shout at them. And they'll behave themselves. Problem is those parents don't manage their children well. They simply let the children scream and cry...so someone else has to discipline the children for them.

Great article. The next best one after the interview with Westin Hotel's GM. And I like this phrase:

the average image is probably a little more romantic, as the whole cottage garden style is one we very much promote and favor. The image of lazy afternoons in a quiet secluded green lawned garden, with buzzing of the bees in colorful flower beds and twittering song of birds is the quintessential view of an English garden.

Interesting..the way Zhao was looking at Mao and his wife didn't even bother to be jealous about it. I think a J woman would have been holding on tight to her husband's hand and giving that sort of 'stare' Mao won't forget the rest of her life....lol.
