I suppose the lady in the gorgeous kimono is part of the Japan GDF military "band".

Obviously she did not "march" or perform a J odori.

Did she sing?

...Japan’s economy has been remarkably resilient.

Agreed.

Japan is still the 2nd largest holder of US Treasury Bonds.

One of the top ten countries in foreign aid to developing nations.

There is strong industry with quality products.

Agreed.

Thankfully it's early stage and hopefully very treatable.

The (ex) Empress Michiko retains unsurpassable dignity.

ASEAN co-operation is where everyone wins -

It's about pro-actively moving forward - {and not perseverating on past excesses} - for the good of each country, respective industries, jobs, the livelihood of the peoples.

That's leadership..

Japan's position will not change much.

Let the neighboring countries watch all they can.

There are many countries friendly to Japan : Taiwan, Indonesia, VietNam Thailand, Philippines etc. who are happy to engage J companies and trade.

That is China's take

Taiwan is a sovereign nation and can choose it's own foreign policy.

@tooheysnew: and why would anyone pay money for their services ?

.

Perhaps you have been out of the mainland too long -

.

However newer living spaces in places like US, England, Australia, Canada - condos, rental apartments in the larger urban cities in North America, Europe - are offering smaller square footage of living space.

.

In place like New York, Sydney Australia, Vancouver Canada, people are paying over YEN 540,000,000 for as little as 600 sq feet.

Westerners are not good at knowing how to maximize small spaces.

That is why KONDO demonstrating the japanese intuitive and creative use of space is such a BIG hit to the westerner faced with this challenge.

Japan is a constitutional democracy in name only.

I looks , in practice, more like a benevolent controlling one-party system.

The other auxiliary political parties are like props in a play - to give the illusion that the people have real options federally..

I suppose, one reason is because the spirit for democratic change never really originated from within the soil and roots of the Japanese soul.

It was imposed on them

The Prosecution is not as simplistic as that !

Tampering with evidence while globetrotting and perseverating in an obviously fatuous mantra of defense makes her a risk.
