.

Takeda - one of the world's cutting edge pharmaceuticals, not only in product efficiency but safety as well - has made a valiant breakthrough in this area.

And given it's high professional standard and commitment to medical integrity will perfect the deficiencies .

This is getting to be so excessive, it's almost becoming surreal.

In a world where UNIQLO has become a kind of universal fashion norm -

in terms of style and affordability -

this ongoing ceremonial fawning around regal ascendency

is out-of-tune with the poster-modern age.

It's just crazy the way natural disasters lay havoc in industries.

The JR bullet trains are just one aspect of this matrix.

There are farm industries that have been laid waste.

Ultimately it will hit the consumer in the pocket.

.

BAD Choice ot time : Olympics should have been set for October (*given that everyone involved knows August temps in Tokyo are unforgiving)*

.

Bad move by IOC :IOC moved unilaterally without consulting Tokyo.

.

Bad Attitude: Koike needs to GET REAL & shed the ego. Tokyo IS too hot for the marathon etc.

.

Japan's interest and performance in rugby has improved exponentially from even 8 years ago, when at the World Cup in New Zealand Japan dangled at at bottom ranking.

,

However Japanese are prone to sports that are ritualistic , like baseball. It grabs their mental ethos.

.

Maybe now rugby will capture this younger generation that is not as tied to the same traditions.

It's a powerstruggle.

IOC is correct - however- they did not work consultatively.

Just the facts:  1.4 million US over several years to pay for stuff like - consultant's fees to his sister for fictitious work and to make donations to a university in Lebanon.

That's no oversight.

It's intentional misappropriation of funds.

Maybe at another time, in another era, all this would have been OK

But in face of the recent natural disasters that ripped thru Japan, coupled with the impact of the increased taxes, the downturn in economy this insensitive self indulgence is beyond excessive.

This will impact the economy directly - not to mention the lives of those involved..

It's ironic as sensei258 alludes maybe the Government "should have diverted funds from the elaborate coronation ceremony."

I hope her new position makes Empress Masako shine inwardly as well as outwardly as she seems to in the photo.

Yes mysteriously she seemed to recover from her chronic esoteric illness prior to the abdication of the former Emperor and Empress.

2,600 guests in total have been invited to four banquets.

.

It's reprehensible that the royal palace lacks discernment organizing such a gala event; especially, in face of the stark economic hardships the average Japanese family / person is struggling with ( underscored esp. by the new 10% tax and unprecedented destruction vested upon Japanese these past few weeks)

.

The sentiment among the populace will not be favorable toward this new emperors and empress.

If this emperor GENUINELY wants to demonstrate a deeper identity with his subjects,

he would do well to take note of the recent gesture by his mother, the Empress Emeritus Michiko -

who deferred a official celebration of her 85 birthday,

noting it would be extravagant

in light of the massive destruction and suffering caused by the mega typhoon Hagibis .

It's going to take more than holding a smartphone in his hand to make the Emperor "close to the people".

.

The average Japanese will be able to identify with the Emperor when he makes obvious decisions to move away from the extravagance surrounding their exclusive life : decisions that show he recognizes the peoples economic struggle .

Agreeing to be driven in a specially-design, half-a-million dollar TOYOTA for the coronation ceremony removes him and the Empress further away . . distancing them - especially in a time where people are paying more just to survive !!
