Does anyone know of a market where electricity prices decreased after deregulation? Every example I know of (California, etc) has only increased significantly.

Actually, given the amount of money they are spending on just the sea wall and the population of the city, they could pay everyone in Kesennuma a full time salary for over 50 years. Instead they are just building a concrete wall and giving money to construction companies. Did they tell that to the visitors?

This was almost all caused by keeping the nuclear plants shut down. Japan is indeed over the financial cliff already and in free falI.

I've got my money in digital currencies like Bitcoin and NEM. I don't trust that the politicians won't just devalue the currency a couple of orders of magnitude (inflation is the same as taxation).

This is a dangerous situation. If the politicians aren't careful, Japan will end up like Korea where everyone is a slave to foreign corporations and banking systems (even Samsung is over 50% foreign-owned; foreign corporations and banks don't care about the welfare of the citizens of other countries and treat them like modern-day slaves).

I hope people can start to realize that debt-based economies don't work. Abenomics never even had a chance of working, even if the tax hike hadn't been passed.

This is why we need decentralized economic systems like bitcoin and NEM. It's time to put control of the economy back in the hands of the people.
