That's what happens when you marry your father for money, and then he cuts your allowance

Lawmaker accused of alleged abuse of secretary willing to stay

I had to laugh when I read this. It was written as if she was asked to stay, but of course she wants to stay because it's easy money

Posted in: Man arrested for killing 83-year-old mother See in context

And that this killing was in fact a form of euthanasia? Or he just snapped because the strain of taking care of someone with a terminal disease was too much?

So that makes it all okay then? Besides, the article says nothing about her being sick or needing care.

But you conveniently forgot to mention that the Japanese army was doing the same thing...

According to Thomas Huber from the Combat Studies Institute, Japanese soldiers also mistreated Okinawan civilians during the battle there. Huber writes that rape was "freely committed" by Japanese soldiers who knew that they had little chance of surviving due to the Army's prohibitions against surrender. These abuses contributed to a post-war divide between Okinawans and mainland Japanese.[13]

In a display at the Okinawa Prefectural Peace Memorial Museum, a spotlight highlights a glinting bayonet held by a fierce looking Japanese soldier who stands over an Okinawan family huddled in a cave, the mother trying to smother her baby's cries."At the hands of Japanese soldiers, civilians were massacred, forced to kill themselves and each other,"

That's how

Posted in: U.S. base worker's trial for rape, murder to begin Nov 16 See in context

I hope the prosecutor is on the ball one this one. Even if the defendant had no "murderous intent", he can still be convicted of murder if he "acted with reckless disregard" (stabbing her and hitting her in the head with a metal bar), and those actions could "reasonably be considered to cause death"

A person must be found "insane" not just "mentally ill", for them to be innocent even though they actually committed the crimes they are accused of. The legal definition of insane being, they were unable to tell right from wrong when they did whatever it was.
