You forget that NK's military knows it has no chance of defeating a coalition led by the US. So their only "strategic" goal is to kill as many people as possible, before they go down in flames. If the sh@t hits the fan, Seoul will be gone, and NK will be lobbing missiles (not necessarily nukes) into population centers of Japan.

When you think about it though, those campaign trucks are a good idea. Blaring the names of their candidates over and over will make people remember them when they vote. I'm sure they will get many votes not because people know or agree with their policies, but because they remember their names when it came time to cast their ballot.

Only the first and last paragraph have anything to do with the battle anniversary. The majority of it is about the political BS like Yubaru said

If I'm not mistaken, anything you find in Japan legally belongs to the city in which you found it. That's why you are required to go through the process like I did if you want to keep it. I've turned in many things that I didn't want to keep, cell phones, wallets, more than one unopened bottle of alcohol, even a new cutting board and expensive butcher knife to name a few.

If you find something, turn it in, and do the paperwork at the koban, you can claim it in 90 days if the original owner hasn't. I've made use of this rule myself. The police officer at the koban even filled out the paperwork for me. It was then moved to the main police station nearest the koban where it sat until I claimed it on the 91st day. They even called me when they first received it, to let me know where it was. To claim it, all I had to do was go up to the claims window and show my ID. Then they unsealed the original envelope and verified the contents before giving them to me.

I'm so sick of this issue. How many freaking multiple apologies, admissions of guilt, and compensation packages does Japan have to do? Enough is enough.

@ towingtheline - I got to hand it to you, that one never even crossed my mind this time, but you are right, things like that happen. But still that would be a cold woman to walk away while he's on fire

Oh that's plausible. They're sitting together in the car drinking whiskey, lighting up their cigars. He sets himself on fire, jumps out of the car screaming, and all she does is go park the car and walk away?

More more likely that she drove up to him on the street, tossed a container of gasoline on him, and set him on fire, spilling a bit in the car in the process.

If you brought him to a hospital, and left him there, they would be forced to either take care of him, or to discharge him to some facility. By the time they figured out what was going on, she could empty out the bank accounts, max out the credit cards and be long gone. Or do you think that murdering him and drowning herself was the best choice?

A groper who flees is guilty

A groper by definition is guilty. A man accused of groping will be treated as guilty even if innocent, so running is the best option.

Why is murder/suicide so often the last resort? Before making that decision, I'd had him admitted to a hospital for something, then disappeared to enjoy the rest I deserved.
