.. THIS is what i said:

You don't show up wearing another Tribe's cultural representation - and expect it to be taken as RESPECT. It is insulting and ignorant. No exclusions for bad behavior from people who should know better.

.. So unless You are Native American - You can't tell ME what insults and disrespects My TRIBE.

and unless You think 'Levi Strauss' - and - 'Fruit of the Loom' - are TRIBES deserving 'honor' - You've embarrassed yourself by showing a complete disinterest in what has actually been stated - OR - a total lack of knowledge in the same. Further - in the rush to look clever - You've missed all the points completely.

Alec SavardMar. I already saw Japanese people wearing Native American clothes. I have native american blood from my mother so was it racist towards me? Even tho I don't like the fact that there are Princes, he's still one so it's just normal that he wears samurai clothes in Japan. Btw I don't know any native american here offended with such a thing. They're happy when someone is interested in their culture. They're just being interested in the culture like the Prince with the Japanese's culture. If I ever wear (I doubt I will since I prefer to wear formal clothes) yukata in Japan please just see it as a mark of respect.

.. i am Native American and to think that people 'dressing up' in COSTUME are 'interested in Our culture' is naive and adds to the perception that WE don't care about Our OWN culture. People show respect by NOT USURPING honors that don't belong to them. It is MOCKING - and DISRESPECTFUL - and that includes any Prince of any nation, any country. You don't show up wearing another Tribe's cultural representation - and expect it to be taken as RESPECT. It is insulting and ignorant. No exclusions for bad behavior from people who should know better.

.. To encourage Your children to believe in Santa Clause is inviting them to find YOU to be untruthful - in anything and everything else You say as time goes along - at the very least - subconsciously.

Prostitution was legal. It is legal even today in many European countries.

.. Not FORCED Prostitution = SEX SLAVERY. .. So stop twisting the issue.

@ CH3CHO

.. So, if it were only 20,000 Women who were kidnapped, raped, starved and brutalized - that number would merit Your consideration, as something credible? .. Is it the enormity in NUMBERS? - of the atrocity that has You in denial and disbelief?

The documents, which are backed up by accounts from soldiers and victims, said Japanese authorities set up the brothels in response to uncontrolled rape sprees by invading Japanese soldiers in East Asia

You don't want to admit, do you?

@ tinawatanabe - YOU cannot admit nor believe that a non Korean person would have compassion for these women. Compassion that you, as an Asian woman, totally lack.

@ tinawatanabe - You continue to sidestep the actual issue - with nonsensical sentences - trying to confuse and distract with irrelevant information. YOU need to address the ISSUES at hand - instead of exhibiting a pretense? of inability to understand what's being said before you.

.. Excuse me - i too had a reply to the comment from Toshiko regarding Lady Gaga and Bill Cosby, and like LaWren hadn't realized it had been deleted. ... But, i will say - anyone who is denying or diminishing these crimes against women made sex slaves - are nothing better than the PERPETRATORS of said crimes; and need to face that fact, and stop trying to twist the issue into something defensible - when it is clearly REPREHENSIBLE.

Posted in: 'This is the end' for Pink Floyd, Gilmour says See in context

@ Wipeout -- .. For all Your claims and facts - You do not get it. PINK FLOYD was birthed by Syd Barrett. If and when the others felt they wanted to continue without him - it was time for them - to get a NEW NAME. We all know who's bike they were riding. And if Waters were honest about it - he would've continued with a name like .. 'Luke Warm Waters' - or something appropriate like that. But i digress: SUBJECTIVITY - yeah, i can dig it. People like whatever they like - ok. That just goes to support the claims of LaWren - who obviously knows what PINK FLOYD was and was meant to be - AND who was responsible for it. However late they were to that party = Gilmour and Wright support her statements. When they got sick of Waters and they had eaten enough of the pie that Syd built - and Roger burned - to give him the boot. Gilmour at least TRIED to help Syd, but Roger Waters held resentment and disdain out in plain sight, for the and envy he couldn't hide. He didn't want to give anyone more reason to realize who the credit for Pink Floyd belonged to. But i got no truk with anyone who digs Roger Waters MUSIC - ride that elevator 'till the bottom falls out. But his music ain't - and never was PINK FLOYD - just because he plonked the bass with less than admirable ambition while he stood in Syd's space. All they would have had to do was stop taking the PINK FLOYD name in vain.

" ...we need to leave the BIG decisions to the law, where logic rules. "

Logic several times removed, and lacking personal experience can be severely disadvantaged compared to someone who LIVES it day by day. And to label someone's opinions as 'preconceived ideas and tainted views' is shallow assumption indeed.

Posted in: I have received many e-mails from Japanese women living in other countries. Those women, who wish to divorce their husbands and return to Japan with their children, asked whether their cases are subje See in context

@ Strangerland -- You miss the point in so many ways - of the comments and perspectives being shared here by those You are complaining about - that i barely know where to start. .. But lets use THIS for an example - Here is one of the things You said:

" The best interests of the child have nothing to do with the sex of the parent they end up with, and everything to do with the quality of the parent they end up with. In some cases that will be the mother, and in some cases, the father ...."

No kidding? .. THAT is what some of us are complaining about. What You are saying there is NOT the criteria being considered in the decisions and judgements affecting or imprisoning the Mothers in the situations being addressed. The fact of what You said there is NOT the deciding factor in these cases - the only 'fact' is that foreign Mothers have NO rights, while the Japanese Husband is automatically given control over custody and future of the children AND their relationship to their Mother. Based on the single fact that he is a Japanese citizen while She has come from another country - NOT on what You said there. i don't think You even realize You are SUPPORTING their claims. And .... FURTHERMORE - Your comment towards LaWren and Kizumashii are personally insulting and You owe BOTH of them an apology.

@kaynide .. This statement of Yours - " I absoultely agree that the rights of women is a terrible situation globally, but Japan is not in such a situation regarding this specific issue. " .. is blatantly, plainly false. Especially for a foreign Woman who has married a Japanese Man and come to live here. The avenues open to Her for to turn to for help with abuse of any kind - physical, mental, emotional - is ATROCIOUSLY inept, unfair, and uncaring - serving ONLY the Japanese husband. It leaves the foreign Mother feeling hopeless - with virtually no choices in the matter. Having drastically negative effects on the children.

@Kaynide.. As a man? .. Try to speak and consider what is being said - as a PERSON. Your words and opinion show a monstrosity of understanding of this subject, to which kimuzukashiiiii and LaWren have shown obvious hard fought and paid-for knowledge of - and are bringing some very sad FACTS to light. If You do not KNOW - that these - Your words: " If men had total control and could simply swat the woman aside.." .. Are in most cases EXACTLY what is going on - what is taking place DAILY - and what these women are suffering. Men DO have total control. Men and their wants and needs rule the WORLD - in regards to the subject at hand, this is MORE than accurate, and i speak as a MAN. .. Your lack of ability to perceive this problem objectively almost makes me embarrassed to admit that. But as a MAN - I see an overwhelming percentage of the kinds of situations described by kimuzukashiiiii and LaWren - where the woman is defenseless - without a voice to be heard, nor a right to be honored. They are given nothing but abuse and DIS-honor and are without mercy of a husband who needs not to show any - because the system allows it by ignoring the plights of the women who are suffering these situations without representation or recourse.
