Posted in: How do you feel when you speak fluent or reasonably good Japanese to a Japanese person and they insist on answering you in English? See in context
Angers me, less now but depends on the person and day. I have taken the time and effort AND courage to speak in Japanese but English comes back, blood boils. Of course the same could be said about the Japanese who reply in English but at least show manners to answer in Japanese, if we hit a roadblock in the conversation and feel you can continue in English then do so.

The only reason I go to Starbucks is because its on my way home, can comfortable use my laptop and its kinda cheap but it is bad coffee. But coffee at smaller shops is always better including those smokey old kissatens. Coffee here will never be as good as back home.

Her phone should be permanently restricted from being able to call 119 again. Have a real emergency? Too bad, maybe there were real emergencies in the 900 times she called before but they couldnt get through because of her. Or if she has a real emergency, hang up on her 900 times then take her call.
