of all the issues that people bribe JGov ministers for, it's THIS eco-friendly one that gets discovered.......any chance we can delve into the coal and nuclear lobbyists and their trough of bribes??

Wage growth. My wife got a five yen/hr raise each year for the last five years. Thanks but a 25 yen boost hasn't been quite enough.

I can't disagree with that. But if we leave Russia's actions aside for now, there still remain the people of the eastern parts of Ukraine who I understand were generally unhappy with the changes that occurred in 2014. Should their thoughts be ignored just because Russia behaves badly?

I guess we disagree on the idea of self-determination. Fair enough. But the issue seems to crop up a lot in our messy world.

But the majority of the people in the Dombas didn't want self determination. They didn't think there was a genocide going on. This was all nonsense agitated by Russia. The subsequent elections were highly discredited.....if they feel it is the will of all who live there, then Russia should pull out....allow the UN to administer an election there to decide whether they want to be independent or part of ukraine....but Russia knows that it was garbage propaganda that they peddled. I'm all for self-determination....if that's what the majority wants.

An immediate end would be a ceasefire, leaving Russia in control of the historically Russian areas.

Russia is prepared to discuss the new line of control.

Unfortunately Zelensky is refusing to accept a negotiated peace.

and he is right to refuse such a scenario. Russia needs to move back across their borders. There is no negotiation for illegal invasions.

In other words, J-inc corruption and incompetence causes a huge disaster, milks it for 12 years, then just pours radiation into the sea, then cry victim when people don’t just bend over and take it.

I think they are bending over and taking it nicely....funny phone calls?! ok then.

China wants to grow up.......

Maybe we can start a similar campaign to the Chinese embassy in Tokyo complaining about all the air pollutants that Chinese factories spew out that contributes to the poor air quality haze that floats across the Japan sea. Or the pollutants and sewage that is pumped into its rivers that ends up in the ocean.....in fact...China....just....shhhh

Because Japanese pro baseball has a stupid arsed draft system that is based purely on the luck of the draw.

What does this mean?

Aren’t there just 6 teams in the league? How can winning it be so rare?

Because Tigers are usually garbage?

maybe just allow marijuana to be legal then....people obviously want to smoke it. Prohibition of the actual product is pushing people into trying more dangerous compounds....control and legalise the actual product then.

Convenis are the pride of Japan. Outstanding products and service. Everyone has their favourite conveni product - mine is the Lawson egg sandwich.

I don't get the excitement over the egg sandwiches....I like em...but they are just egg sandwiches. I've had people come from abroad and when I ask them what they have eaten or want to eat, the egg sandwich is usually 1 of the first things they say! We have egg sandwiches at home....they taste the same....eggy....I just don't get it!

As the article states, this isn't anything new....but it IS something that the media likes to hype. A few years back there were hysterical headlines like "RAF SCRAMBLES JETS TO INTERCEPT RUSSIAN FIGHTERS".......when in reality, what happened was that RAF jets were sent on a routine shadowing mission as Russian jets flew in international airspace. This is what happens all the time. What with the tensions between Russia and the west, I'm sure they will be even more common....but let's not over egg the pudding here.

If teens look at other teens....is that really paedophilia?! Ever since the advent of cameraphones, this has become a problem around the world.....I worked in schools back home at the beginning of this, and the sending and asking for nude shots steadily grew. It's a problem as these images can haunt young people throughout their lives......but it's not paedophilia...is it. Adults inducing minors to take nudes or send nudes or gathering nudes from a 3rd party source....that is paedophilia.

Posted in: Hot spring baths block Japan's geothermal potential See in context

LMAO this myth still perpetrates in Japan. The Nuclear lobby in the 60's and 70's successfully sowed this idea into the psyches of inaka people and onsen town hicks. Iceland, has HUGE geothermal energy production and also HUGE culture for hot springs....1 does not preclude the other. And guess where they get the technology and turbines required to make all that clean, constant electricity?? You guessed it......Mitsubishi Heavy industries from right here in good ol Nippon!! You couldn't make this nonsense up. Well done Japan, another great example of why groupthink is terrible for the progression of society.

Let's fire up those coal plants!! LLF

Airport staff quitting due to the sharp decline in travelers during the height of the pandemic has resulted in a more than 20 percent decrease in security inspectors nationwide.

quitting?? you mean they were fired......their companies fired them because of lower traveller numbers. Why would staff care that there are less travellers if they were still being paid to do the same job, less travellers= less work!
