Unfortunately, large numbers of people are still uninformed on what exactly Covid -19 is and what it does to a person. JT and other "reputable news" sources limit real discussions on the virus and help to perpetuate the notion that Covid can be associated to something as simple as a common cold or flu virus.

Sad, that scientists have already discovered so much about this virus over the past few years and the public is still kept in the dark. I mean since when has a common cold been proven to cause "brain shrinkage," "heart disease," and "systematic organ failure." Aside from other things depending on the variant you catch. smh

Recent studies have shown that marijuana use can cause damage the heart and blood vessels.

"Marijuana smoke also delivers many of the same substances researchers have found in tobacco smoke — these substances are harmful to the lungs and cardiovascular system,"

“There’s a public perception that marijuana is safer than tobacco, and this study raises concern this may not be true,” said lead study author Dr. Giselle Revah

Maybe some countries don't want to start pumping money into avoidable medical costs while not benefiting from the tax and economic benefits that Thailand will be pocketing while not paying any medical bills.

I think because they were torn away from their countries and culture against their will. They created a new culture to replace the one they had stolen from them. They don't crave recognition from the white establishment. They're not asking, they're demanding it through sheer force of innovation and ideas.

The fact that black culture has become so suffused and even a dominant factor in American and international culture is a victory for those who had everything taken away from them.

Well said...

There were numerous studies that showed vaccinated people contracted Covid-19 at higher rates. There was even CDC data that proved that regions with higher vaccinated populations had higher transmission rates of Covid 19 than areas with lower vaccination rates when comparing populations. They looked at states and counties in the US. This is well documented. But people still will believe whatever they want to believe to tell themselves they did the "right" thing. It doesn't matter to me. Time will reveal everything and it won't be that long.

Autoimmune diseases don't take very long to do what their designed to do. It's just difficult for some people to understand why they are sick

Never got vaccinated, although I was leaning towards the non-MRNA vaccine from Novavax. Ultimately decided not to get anything that produced spike proteins.

Lucky enough to not be required to get jabbed for work, but was required to test weekly, being a middle school teacher.

Specifically wore N95 masks and often doubled them. Never been healthier. Also wear full on P100 3M respirator masks on Planes. Can't even tell when people are eating.

I am the 3% they will never get.

White House COVID-19 coordinator Dr. Ashish Jha said COVID-19 will likely be with us for the rest of our lives.

If Covid -19 is allowed to spread indefinitely our life spans will take a huge drop. Scientist in the UK have already discovered that Covid-19 plays a major role in damaging/destroying brain tissue that human beings can never get back, actually causing the brain to lose grey matter and size aging the brain by up to 10 years.

Posted in: Asiana plane crashes at San Francisco airport; 2 dead See in context

To further clarify my statement, because it seems that some people are drawing conclusions that I was not implying. First off No one has blamed this accident on ethnicity the fact remains that the pilots who crashed the plane were korean pilots but they didn't crash because they were Korean. SmithinJapan you can make all the assumptions you want, but I will state this one more time. Korean pilots tend to have trouble landing large aircraft. Why do I think this?

Maybe because I have flown over 50,000 air miles aboard planes flown by korean pilots and of the dozens of landings only a few were normal. Most landings of large747 777, etc were hard or excessively hard rocky landings. I don't care how many flight hours they have or years they've spent flying. It doesn't help if their culture allows common sense to take a back seat to their hierarchy way of thinking. Meaning even if a seasoned pilot misses something or makes an error a younger co-pilot would think twice before correcting him. I have no doubt this crash was pilot error. Every passenger is saying the plane was too low.

Posted in: Asiana plane crashes at San Francisco airport; 2 dead See in context

I'm not surprised that this happened. I fly in and out of korea alot over the past several years. And korean pilots simply have difficulty landing large aircraft perfectly. Calm favorable weather, little wind, good visibility yet pilot error on the landing with no distress call. Passengers said he came in to low and tried "at the last minute to correct the positioning of the plane"

Hopefully now there will be an investigation and improvements made for Korean pilot training especially for landing. The roughest landings i have ever had its scarey.

IF a server doesn't bring a mask there should be a penalty like adding more days to serve lunch etc. But many asians seem not able to think outside the box.

like Borscht so nicely implied, they simply follow rules with little or no personal comprehension of why or what they are doing and find it hard to cope when a rule is broken and there is no alternate protocol. Improvisation not their strong point.

Its sad because the leading cause of death for young people in South korea is suicide. Fact

Posted in: Germany most popular country in the world; Japan No. 4: BBC poll See in context

This poll is fundamentally flawed. After reading this article i realized how cleverly disguised news articles like these create mis-perception and mis-information. This poll was conducted with bias, and only selected countries were given to people within 16 nations. This seems like a mock poll to boost tourism in certain countries with low tourist numbers.

A better poll would have taken into account places where people travel to more and/or spend more tourist money. Germany maybe 1st in this poll but actually people travel there far less. Fact remains more people travel to places like Turkey than Germany. How can a country be considered the most "popular" country when tourist travel there in much lower numbers than other countries??

Posted in: Japan trying to confirm N Korean missile launch status See in context

The DPRK is just a Proxy for China. No one can say that China is pulling all the strings but it will be ignorant to think that no strings are in chinese hands. The US use to be smarter than this but apparently the rest of the world is catching up to the level of US sophistication in the global political arena. Or at least the regimes that have survived this long.

no one seems to get it...the DPRK is a proxy for China. The North koreans will one day fight the south in the attempt to unify the peninsulla. But no one knows when the time will come. They tried 60yrs ago and failed because of the U.S. and Nato. So today, the rhetoric has been fire hot to bait the U.S. into showing their cards if there were to be a real conflict. And sadly the US is showing North Korea and China exactly what to expect and prepare for when the real dance starts.

The North Koreans can't really gather the kind of intel they would need in preparation for an actually conflict so they basically create this situation to get the US to show its hand.i.e. B2 bombers, Cruisers, Radar Equip. Missle defense, THAD,etc. Basically , this also shows China what to expect from the US in the region when things get hot. In a few years when the DPRK can actually match all the talk and rhetoric with real proven advancements in missle tech, and nuclear tech this threat will be real.

And even today the Pentagon announced that they believe the Koreans have a nuclear capable missile. Not years away like the biased "experts" have been saying. SO I guess thats why the Chinese have been supplying the North Koreans with Mobile Launch Pads Vehicles because what is a missle if you don't have the ability to transport.

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

Posted in: Germany gives Japan its backing as N Korea tensions rise See in context

and no one wants to talk about it but....the reason the DPRK can run its mouth is because it has a signed defense pact with China. And if the North is ever attacked or invaded the chinese would assist them. This agreement was made after the first korean war and to my knowledge has never been nullified. The koreans know this, and the US know this so basically nobody wants to make the first move.
