Posted in: 14-year-old boy detained after stabbing younger student See in context
Speculation, but...I would guess the stabber will go to a young offenders institute and never step foot in that school again. The principal will be dragged over the coals by the board of education, receive a hefty pay cut, and be moved along come April. I will also speculate that this involved a notorious student and it was only a matter of time before this boy hurt somebody, proper. The question is not only how to effectively punish, but also how to better prevent.

Actually it says information "including". It then goes on to say that information will be "made public regarding their age, sex, symptoms, and possible persons with whom the patient has come in contact". How will they announce the info? On the evening news, in the arrivals lounge, running up to folks point and yelling "Ugh! Ebola!"..

Well, if on a promise of a suspended sentence, he did actually roll on the folks who supplied him then he should probably make himself pretty scarce. He was caught with a large amount of drugs and should definetely have done time but no...I'm wondering if the gentlemen he procured it from are fairly big fish?... involved in supplying other big names? Huge speculation, of course, but still...I'd grab me passport and vanish for a while if I was him.

An awful lot of smokescreens thrown up, in the hope that the continuing plight of the folks up in the areas hit hardest will be forgotten. Disgusting, really. By and large I don't think that they have been forgotten but they've certainly become a secondary thought and maybe almost a taboo topic outside of ones own four walls..I don't hear many voices telling the govt to get it's act straight.

How old is "old"? Remaking films such as Point Break, Robocop or Total Recall is ridiculous as they are great just as they are and not old, in my opinion anyway. But to answer the question...the three I've mentioned (although they're already condemned) and I'll add The Guns of Navarone, Taxi Driver and all circa 1970s porn.

A one off payment of 10,000 per child?? Wow. Can almost taste the resounding "Gee, thanks". I dont understand the finer points of economics to be honest but my predictions are thus...folks will stop spending, forcing shops to cut prices or offer too-good-to-be-true deals in the big ticket sectors. Higher end supermarkets will see a fall in spending, maybe not dramatically at first but it'll be noticeable by the time tax has been kicked up to 10%. So on and so forth. Apparently, tobacco is not getting a price hike..is that right?? If not then why the heck not?! If there's any market at all that will earn the pennies its got to be one thats addictive.
