Posted in: Star maker Simon Cowell heads to YouTube to find new talent See in context

Despite what people may feel about him, Simon Cowell is a cash magnet! Very few people get as rich as he by being nice and anyone who thinks different is sorely mislead...Simon Cowell is a thoroughly unpleasant fellow and its his job. There just isnt any money in being a flowery-tongued saint.

Spring is in the aaiiiiir...Tis the season chaps. Marbles being lost left, right and centre! The bloke having a gang past suggests that he wasn't particularly well hinged in the first place but as to why he suddenly went off...? Well, we may never know and it may not be all that complex. Very unfair to blame homelessness...very presumptious to assume alcohol or drug use/abuse...So, with the present information..Im going to speculate hes an ex-gangster who has gone crackers.

@C Harald Hansen...to be fair they did wish for and (in some cases at least) work for the life they have. Being famous means being under the scrutiny of some unpleasant people but...I dont see a lack of youngsters wanting to be or being made famous so it cant be all that bad. My advice..create a diversion with a reality show.

A man with a knife is worrisome to say the least...A 6ft 3in man, weighing in at over 200lbs and known to have nicknames such as The Terminator or Manic Hippo with a knife is as good a reason as any to find the nearest exit. A very strange state of affairs though, would like to know the full story behind his self-defence claim.

Oh dear oh dear, what a (door)knob. All the media attention about some scrote back in LA driving his motors just screams of poor little Justin being used..just a little. Not the sharpest tool in the shed..but a tool nonetheless.

45 million yen?! That is an awful lot of money. I wonder, how many phone calls did it take to find someone who has that amount of cash readily available?? Something smells a little fishy.

Posted in: Saitama man dies after hospitals reject him 36 times See in context

Its quicker and safer to have a friend or relative drive you, should you need to get to an ER. If you walk in or are carried/helped in then you will absolutely get seen. If you call forward then they have the option to reject the patient. They shouldnt have that choice but sadly...

Japan has got to be the favourite in all this, surely. Give it to Madrid and the pickpockets will think christmas has come early. Give it to Turkey and you've really got to worry about security. I dont like Abes sales pitch but I dont see any reason why Japan shouldnt get it. If folks are honest you know it will be an incredible show!

Posted in: Saitama man dies after hospitals reject him 36 times See in context

Understaffing, overworking and lack of bedding is not a problem unique to Japan. Neither is people waiting an insane amount of time to see a clinician, nurse or medic in a hospital "emergency" setting. Just look at the NHS. But at least with the NHS the patient is actually waiting in the hospital. If the poor bloke had died after being turned away from just one hospital then one could argue that his chances of survival were slim in the first place...but 36 times? Thats just ridiculous and this man was basically left to die.

More commonly known as spongers. My neighbour is one...living very comfortably off his fathers last will n testament from behind closed doors n drawn curtains. My kids call him the Onceler from The Lorax. Fitting on appearance apart from the oddbod is absolutely minted and hasn't ever/doesn't ever/won't ever lift a finger. Not even to maintain his late fathers property investment. Disgraceful n I have no sympathy for him or those like him. If one chooses alienation then we should respect that n leave them well alone.

Posted in: Leonardo DiCaprio finds extra work hawking whiskey in Japan See in context

If people like DiCaprio or whoever want to make some pocket money from commercials then so be it. What really got my goat was a recent story I heard about Beiber. He apparently wanted to unwind at a club after a gig. His "people" called the club, expressed his intentions and promptly requested 15,000 quid from them for the pleasure of hosting the little tyke. They refused to pay but he went anyway...wtf thinks I. So let DiCaprio n the rest of those struggling actors get some..at least they work for it..kinda.

Posted in: Beijing restaurant removes 'racist' sign after fury, but manager refuses to apologize See in context

As some have mentioned above this should not lead to painting the entirety of China racist. Any establishment that does this can obviously afford to turn away perfectly good business so dont concern oneself and take your hard earned cash somewhere else. The whole "look what china did this time!" and "its chinas fault!" is boring and purile...unfortunately I hear it every single day. I think I might post a sign on my desk saying "No ignorant, closed-minded, humorless, mannerless, codescending people will be entertained here. And sheep." I give it less than a day before someone complains.

Posted in: Sea Shepherd, whalers clash in Antarctic waters See in context

Thanks wtfjapan. It all seems a bit silly, really. These activists deliberately bite off more than they can chew then complain when they suffer the consequences. Its like trying to prove to the world that hornets are likely to sting if one whacks the nest with a stick...lamenting and blaming the hornets when they get nailed..then expecting the rational world to come to their aid. Equally I dont agree with the Japanese excuse for hunting whales. Science my posterior. Just admit that the hunt is for food..that very few people eat anyway..if the activists get in the way of it then dont steam in full bore..it just adds fuel to their cries of "save the whaaaales!"..and makes you look equally childish.

Posted in: 98 windows smashed, staff room flooded at Odawara school See in context

Almost the exact same thing happened at a school I worked at some 10 or 11 years ago. With the police only being notified in the morning when the first staff member got to work. I was also astounded that nobody heard anything. Someone above has mentioned that the area in which this happened has quite a few subsidised housing buildings..as did/does the area that I worked in. Perhaps a lack of pride in the community stops curtains twitching as much? Anyway, they never did catch the culprit for the first one..but when it happened again they did catch him. He only got through 40 or something windows the second time and the whole thing was thoroughly hushed up. It was one punk kid with one gigantic bee in his bonnet about goodness knows what, and it turned out that everyone including the cops knew it was him all along. I'm gonna gamble that this Odawara thing is one or two punk kids with poorly fitting trousers, a "borrowed" scooter n baseball bats (i could be wrong though)...and I would also gamble that the police n school know exactly who is responsible (of this i am sure!).

Selfish and greedy. Probably..but arent we all, in our own ways? Spiritually immature. Don't even know what that means. Materially-minded..me too but I'm no armed robber. Cowards..totally disagree. Gonads of steel, disciplined, team orientated, meticulous. Granted these "attributes" could be used for slightly less criminal enterprise but that would be too easy...not the other way round.
