Who will control monetary policy then?" Well, considering so many of those on board have had issues with taxes, I should apply for it. I've never had a money issue even when I was making hardly anything.

I don't care about no tea party, dem party, repub party... I do care about non-performing workers getting paid for stellar performing workers and I also care about taxes. Someone with the same credentials of these teachers gets paid less and still pays into their own retirement and health care.

Now, pls quit the conspiracy theories... there are times when I find myself agreeing with you and this is NOT one of them.

They are the biggest money engine for Tea Party movement and Walker" So? So its ok for unions to force people to pay dues and then give it over to the dem campaigns but not for anyone else? Who the heck is dick army?

Anyway, now the kids should be back in school... and teachers should be teaching. that's what they are paid to do, not trash up public places, shout and threaten people....

GW: the Koch bros, as i just checked what they're about, are hardly relevant for the most part. They are actually a scapegoat. This is all about teachers/public employees taking too much and being untouchable, including, bad teachers and pedos still being on the payroll.

Jesse Jackson sends a warning message during an appearance on FOX News: "So they're going to escalate the protests -- you will either have collective bargaining through a vehicle called collective bargaining or you're going to have it through the streets".

Apparently, you have never had a job with a public sector." countless times I've told people on JT that I have worked for the VA hospital and drove an ambulance in two cities until 99' (that's why I even bothered to say "qualified")... you're not the only one with union experience.

They are trying to bust unions as the Politicians (D) are with little guys and unions. " No, the dems are with their cash cow.. Fear not, they'll find another one.

I wanna tell you your friends Koch Brothers (they are the 4th richest 48 billions) and other oil billionnaires including FOX news are celebrating their victory over "Oil Subsidaries Bill" two weeks ago." I don't even know these Koch brothers and I live in Japan. No Fox news, so let's stop this. The oil subsidiaries bill if you really look it is kind of like a "bailout of GM" which you supported to keep people working. remember, its the gov telling them they can't drill... kind of like tell you you can't make calls or puts in for a month. You gonna give up those commissions?

GW, he has always sent his kids to private school anyway... All of us went through both Miami and Chicago school systems.. We know we wouldn't want what we went through in Chicago for our kids. I plan to do the same. I'm appalled that there are teachers being protected by unions that shouldn't be there.

The reaction to the bill's passing should give you enough evidence that union power is dangerous.

in retrospect to GW's analogy, I just checked several large cities fire, police and sanitation departments. Funny, how ever heavily unionized cities like NY, Newark, Boston, Chicago, all of them had the age limitations... I see that since I'm 39 I am too old to be even a garbage man... even though I'm well qualified. Talk about discrimination

Big corporations will start controlling a public sector business monopoly." As long as their unions are too strong, we can get rid of them.

Oh and now maybe workers can keep that money and spend it the way they feel fit instead of the union just dumping into campaigns...

I can not believe the behavior I saw on the news on one of the TV's here.... these people are actually teachers?

Well, once the craziness settles down maybe the state can finally attract business it has been denied for so long.

Who are the rebels really? do we know anything about them. Or are we to automatically assume they are the down and outers? As a poster the other day pointed out, we did help out the Taliban once upon a time.

...bull...if my daughter made a lot of money and did the same thing I'd disown her and she knows it!" I would like to believe my daughter is a strong woman who doesn't need a man who is worthless... We've got a lot of money set aside for our kids and other kids to come. If my daughter were to be pregnant out of wed lock, I can assure you she wouldn't need to take from the state at all..

Posted in: Huckabee denies criticizing Portman's pregnancy See in context

I could careless about who's having kids out of wed lock as long as its not me nor my kids... Natalie Portman has more than enough money to raise her kids, hire a nanny, and send them to the best schools.. So, if your kid says they want to be like her, tell them she's accomplished a lot and waited until she had cash in hand to have kids. She's a role model in this day and age. that being said, the poor single women with kids should be thinking about other things than having more.

However, the poorest 10% of the US citizens have an income of US$5,800 US$ per year" That's has to be wrong. Welfare pays out more than that. In fact, back in 89' while we collected it, it was a lot more than that.

Here in Japan as you know, all affiliated personnel with the US have a "Y" plate on their car" Why is that? Instead of hiding, they should address the problem, i.e. put a lid on islamist imams and check who they are hiring to work at the airport. But political correctness prevents that." Nuff said!

Agree this is positive. Just one question -- Since this position of the Pope's is contained in his book, does this make it official church doctrine, or just his opinion? I'm Catholic, and I'm not sure." Not really Catholic, mother is/was.... but I was thinking the same thing.

Jesus was a Jewish Rabbi. Just a mortal man." I've heard Mohammad was too.. So, now that the Catholics are stepping up, what's up with the issue between Islam and Jews?

Liquidate it all! It'll be fun to watch the end of what is left of American civilization." Odd as it may sound, the US was on a constant up before many of those departments were created....

So shut it down, and good luck with that." You don't trust people would at the very least put their cash under the bed? Believe it or not, you'd probably come out with more these days. Funny you mention hospitals in that manner, there are many "free and low cost" clinics in many states. There are also fee based hospitals too.. of course not in the big cities.

My point is that we, I'm confident, we could do just as good for ourselves without our government in its current form, which all it is now is a scam.

I don't about you guys, if your a US citizen, but I've had it with the entire US gov. We elect these people to lead, but instead all they really do is conjure up ways to take more and more of our money. Look at some of the things that are being paid for... fish mating habits, and what not. Social Security probably is not as bad as many say and maybe it is, but I would prefer for them to let me keep my money and let me put it into my own retirement (yes, many treat SSI as though it is their retirement fund). For those in need, again, I'd prefer for me to have more of a say of how it is paid and for what. Or even allow us to build our own help organizations at a local level. Sorry, but I can't fathom food stamps paying for things like alcohol or tobacco products which many places sell and paid for with food stamps. Education, again here too.. the DOE has done a terrible job over the years. when you are under a government such as the US government taking money left and right, really I ask what's the difference of living under a king?
